You see Mike, knowledge is like quarters at an arcade: the more one has the longer they can play. And I'm afraid you're out of quarters.
I have to admit it bro, you are one of the best parrots I've seen. If I had the time to spend 24hrs a day on different forums transferring info from one place to another, I suspect I could become a parrot too. 'Course then I'd never get to actually drive my Vette's but would have to let them be garage queens....sound familiar?
"Parrot"? are you accusing me of plagarism? I think you are!
And by the way, I spend little to no time on other forums. Even if I were you have no proof of same and thus are making baseless accusations.
Pehaps I need to put it more bluntly...STOP with the If you don't like what I have to say, tough s**t! I am not breaking any rules and I'm most certainly not a "parrot". Where do you come off saying that? Who the hell do you think you are anyway!? Mod/admin status notwithstanding. Don't sit there and act all coy and think I will cower in fear. You have NO IDEA who you are talking to so don't try and pretend you do!
I told you before, and I'm telling you again, quit dogging me!
I don't mind being poked at good naturedly, but you're stepping over the line, Mr!
Oh, by the way, this is something that should be kept between you and I, as in PM's. However, since YOU chose to take it public then I am responding in kind. When have I EVER attacked you or anyone else, personally? When have I EVER claimed anyone here was a "parrot" or even implied same? The answer is NEVER.
So what gives you the right to do so? Oh, wait, you're an admin. Pardon me. You can do anything you want and the rest of us can say nothing, right.
YOU are off topic by making such ad hominem attacks on my personal integrity. And THAT is against the rules.
I try to be nice to eveyone here. I never call on anyone, even when I know they are full of it. So, once more, what gives you the right to do so other than the fact you're an admin? And I'm not going to answer that even though I have a pretty damn good idea.
You can act like it is all in good fun and that you're just poking fun at me. Like I said, I can deal with that, but that isn't what you're doing. Oh, and I'm not alone in my thinking as far as this matter is concerned, just so you know.
Oh, one last thing: we're all "parrots", Mike. That is unless you were born with omniscient knowledge and have never had to read or study a thing. It's called education, Mike. And Yes, I have been well educated. Isn't that amazing? I actually had to LEARN from other people. I have read and studied..a lot. So yes, in that respect I guess you could say I am a "parrot".
And don't even think about replying with some snide remark such as "You're quite the keyboard warrior" like you have to others in the past.
Like I said, you don't know me; you have no idea what my background is and you don't know what I do. So don't act like you do.
It's amazing how far GM is going to hype the ZR1 and downplay the Z06. It's like they hate having the Z06 in their product line and I think it's because when you look at the specs, there just isn't $39,000 difference in performance - especially if you put decent tires on a Z06. Why doesn't someone slap a set of ZR1 rolling stock onto a Z06 and see what happens? Better yet, borrow someone's Pro-charged C-6 Z06 with the ZR1 rolling stock - and see what happens at the ring. Brakes may be the only weak point and you may have to tweak the suspension/shocks to control the change in unsprung weight. A ProCharger gives you 700+ hp for $11,000 (installed/tuned) and I imagine the rolling stock would set you back another $2,500 so that added to the $78,000 for an 09 Cyber Gray Metallic LZ2 Z06 = $91,500 vice $117,000 plus dealer markup for the ZR1. Better yet, find a good used Z06 at a lot less cost and the advantage grows even larger.
The ZR1 is a great car but so is the Z06.
They have to hype it up because it's their new baby. Besides, they have to justify the cost relative to not only other cars in their lineup, but also other cars of the same type (sports cars) that cost much more.
The ZR1 is more than just tires, meaning tires alone are not going to make a Z06 into a ZR1 killer, let alone equal its performance. Even a heavily modified Z06, although it could conceivably outperform a ZR1, would still be a modified car. Not to mention the ZR1 has a full factory warranty.
You can't get the level of performance the ZR1 is capable of for its price in virtually any other car. The Corvette is a great value for its price as we all know. However, it is not perfect. It is not the best car in the word. But it is arguably the best car of its type for the cost. GM refers to that as "value".
Perhaps I should become a "parrot" for GM because I don't think I've ever seen anyone try and sell GM vehicles or claim the Corvette is a great car. They could use the help.

Right, the C6 is 5 inches longer(optical illusion)?, and a bit wider I beleave, then the C5 for this reason as well. I specifically added the STS to my C5 Z trying not to tip the car with the 120lb's of a roots supercharger, but, I still made my car heavier with the extra 150lb's and probably moved the CoG longitudinally, hopfully not badly, a bit.
Big ass T1 sway bars, pretty much full time track rubber, and ride height with custom alignment are there to compensate. I also bumped up the brakes a bit.
Looking at this THOROUGHLY I think I still see the merits in my STS vs a roots setup. longitudinal weight transfer being equalized by counterbalancing weight (fore/aft) down low, and laterally because it's down low. Check me if I'm wrong!
Also, some guys like to think and some guys like to do, and guys like to me like to do both which makes us way bader! Go "No Doubt"!
"Z" does not nor ever has stood for Zora Arcus Duntov (or anything else), but remains a popular myth in Corvette FOLKLORE.
I just calls 'em likes I sees 'em. No offense but I think your (or my) handle should be "LAST WORD". This ain't no pissin contest either, but it sure looks like one. Let's both take chill pill and call it a draw BRO!
Also, thinking about it SUV's do alright going straight, as well. Of course the sin (vertical component) is closer to the cosine (horizonal component) in this case; and all of which is intuitive! "No Doubt" Aerospace or Corvette Engineer, easy!
Metphors can make a point simpler then Physics, don't have to reinvent the wheel.
For optimum handling a car should have all its weight, with the driver, equidistant from the cars tire patches only clearance high from the ground, any divergence to that either due to design constants, modification, and/or nature, lowers efficiency.
Getting back, needs the paddles!
Ah, the Ferrari's F1 transmission. This paddle-shift sequential manual unit is so good that we wonder why anyone chooses the standard manual gearbox. Most of the time, you leave the tranny in manual mode and use the fixed paddles to make instant shifts — left to go down the ratios, right to change up. On the track, the lack of a clutch pedal is a boon because you can use your left foot to brake, thus saving time. In town, it's also handy because your left foot never gets tired from having to pump the clutch. The automatic mode is a bit clunky but works sufficiently well when you're not in the mood to move your digits.
