Personally, I'm wish the ZR1 was still a few years away. The Z06 only had the last 9 years to bask in the glory of all that is SPECIAL in the Corvette kingdom. Only 3 for the C6 Z06, which stiill commands a lot of prestige. But, now the ZR1 is in spotlight and getting all the attention. The Z06 is yesterday's news. I find that kind of sad.
Many of the people I've spoken to who have yet to own a Corvette seemed more interested in the Z06 rather than the ZR1 mainly due to the cost differential. Although they liked the ZR1 (assuming they knew about it) the additional performance was often not seen as worth the cost since one cannot come close to exploiting either in most cases.
Although many certainly drool over the ZR1, when it comes down to it chances are they'll buy a Z06 instead, and the current financial climate makes that even more likely.
The ZR1 is a niche product and, although it commands respect both in the industry and with enthusiasts, to the general public both the Z06 and ZR1 remain simply Corvettes.
I think the ZR1 is more like a Caddy than a sports car. But I do like it and would buy one if the dealers will get off their must sell for over MSRP thing.
There are currently 28 setting on show room floors I think all the big spenders have theirs and the wanters like me will be next buying at MSRP and then will come the BRAINS they will buy from me a like new car for 20-30 off a year or two latter.

I saw a ZR1 for the 1st time today at the Dallas Auto Show. They had a Z06 and a C6 as well. They should have roped the vettes off. So many people are just total ass clowns and have no respect. Hands all over them, leaning on then with jeans, and the worst...some guy and hes not a kid...looked like 50 to me took his foot, placed it on the carbon fiber front splitter of the ZR1, and started pushing it down and said "Im tesing the shocks" trying to be funny. At least they kept the doors locked on the Z and ZR1.
The ZR1 looks better in person. I was very impressed. I could do without the hood seethrough gimmick though. I just cant believe they have the Camaro roped off but a ZR1 out in the open for abuse.
I finally voted in this poll. After driving my ZR1 for a few months now, I can definitley say it exceeds my expectations. I love it. Sure it would have been nice for it to look a little more different/exotic, but it is one good looking car. As far as the performance, it is amazing.

I’ll make my final decision at the show. I Personally I like the hood and everything else about this car. Yes it's GM’s highest priced vette yet but in comparison to its competition in terms of performance
