How many have dropped out of the ZR1 quest due to price?

Just curious if I am in the minority of Vette lovers who have dropped out of wanting to own a ZR1 the first year due to the price gouging?

I had a price set at $125 and of course I was way off.

I wasn't expecting my dealer would get allocation first year, and he didn't. So moot point for me. I really don't mind waiting. The first year Z06's had a few issues to sort, and the ZR1 will be no different. 2010 sounds much better to me.

I am really concerned that by the time I get the opportunity to buy either a MY2010 or 2011, GM will have jacked the MSRP on the ZR1 by $5k or $10k or more. By the start of the second model year, the C6Z had increased by over $5k if memory serves me. I was able to buy my 06Z06 at MSRP and at the original introductory price as well before all of the price increases.

Heck, I have wondered the same thing. Remember in 2000 what happened with the '01 Z06? They raised the price shortly after they started building them. I got my dealer's first '01 Z06 and the MSRP went up a $1000 from the announced price before my car even got built. Thank goodness for price protection.
