Overall the car looks good. I don't care for the open hood area and the side ground affects. Agree about the weight, but I am sure that will be down in a couple of years.
Really like the dark gray.
That's a great read, thanks for the link... Makes me wonder though; with the extra 200lbs up front, I wonder how the ZR-1 will handle and compare to a head/cam Z06... Looking forward to seeing some comparisons...

Time to start playing the mega-millions lottery again I'm not quite "well-heeled" enough (or "well-toed" enough either).
Mike S - I agree - love the charcoal grey color. I always liked Sprial.

Anybody wanna trade a '67 and a '01 Z and a '06 Z for a grey one?
Don't like the hood either. Should be able to get body color paint for it as an option. Wheels look good too.

The Polycarbonate hood window is not only ugly in my opinion, but also not very practical over the long term. Polycarbonate typically tends to 'swirl' easily, craze and potentially become 'foggy' over time. Then again, many of these cars will end up in a garage, a plastic bubble or kept under cover in the back corner of a hanger or warehouse somewhere and rarely be driven, if ever.
Of course, GM probably doesn't consider it ugly, but rather unique. It's certainly unique to the ZR1 and it's also certainly one of the reasons they did it, as I doubt many, if anyone, will buy one of those hoods for their C6, whereas if it didn't have the window, they likely would. That is assuming of course they fit and will be available.
Car looks good for the most part...Maybe clear polycarbonate hood window will grow on us.."Lexan" very easily scratches with wiping and time.
Concerned abt the 3300LBS....GM does have a history of reporting HP numbers low...
More like 650HP is the magic number..that 595 TQ is very good...TQ wins races...
Can't wait to see it perform...brakes are very impressive. Trust me...GM has jus raised the bar,,,AGAIN!!!! Dodge, must be having sleepless nights...

I *really* wish they'd work on our numb steering feel. I'd rather have had them put money into that, than into another 100+ HP. But I guess big HP sells cars, and world class steering feel doesn't, so they've got little choice.
Be interesting to see how it does round the Nurburgring. Or for that matter Top Gear's track, where the current C6Z does pretty dang well.
I suspect they'll mostly get bought up by collectors and rarely be seen lapping anything at all. :-/
