OK ... that's it ... I've only been married a bit over 38 years, but I'm tellin' my wife that "all the other wives tell their hubbies to get a new man toy and keep the old one" ...

The ones without the big wing seem to be doing pretty well at the track. You plan on going 200MPH on a regular basis where you need that downforce Good luck with the car. Don
It is dealers all playing the same game. They are waiting to see how many bids they get and that is the reason they won't tell anyone the MSRP and options + option costs. They know exactly what they are doing and they are in the driver's seat on this position.
I am supposedly #2 on my dealer's list and all he will do is ask me how much I'm willing to pay. Why would I say how much I am willing to pay if I don't know the starting point which is MSRP.
In fact here's the dealer's email to me when I was trying to find out what was going on:
"...This ZR1 launch has been a mess man...I have not called anyone yet.......I will be in touch though....depending on what you are thinking price wise...let me know, will determine what I can or cannot do...."
See the game?? They all think those of us who have a bank account where we can write a check for the amount we are talking about are morons or something. What am I going to do?
I am supposed to get a call tomorrow from the Dodge dealer on a new Viper, if that tells you anything.
Greetings, I put a deposit down for the 2009 ZR1 about 2 1/2 years ago at "my" chevy dealer from whom I have bought many GM cars, including trucks, vettes. I have probably bought 15+ GM vehicles over the years. I was told 2 1/2 years ago that the price for this "iffy" car would be around the same ratio as the 5K overcharge I paid for my 2006 Z06.
I was called to order my ZR1 yesterday since I was #1 on the allocation list of this dealer's 4 allocations. I was told that by the way the price would be between 2-4 times the MSRP (250K to 500K). Tadge Juechter, the Chief of Corvette Engineering, has urged GM ZR1 dealers to respect the MSRP. I am very upset with the greed and disregard for customer loyalty in a down economy. Is there any recourse?
Vette enthusiast for years.... How about a class action complaint to GM??
I know of at least two dealers with allocations who will sell me a ZR1 at MSRP.
Don't believe the hype, there are always a few stupid people who will pay over the MSRP just to be the first to have the ZR1 but they will look pretty dumb when after just a couple of months dealers are offering to sell them for MSRP.
I have mentally allocated $110,000 to buy mine, although that might creep up a little with the 3LZ option package.
I then have to export mine to the UK meaning I will have the "pleasure" of paying the UK government 10% import duty plus 17.5% Value Added Tax meaning my cost is going to be something like $145,000 so there is no way I am gonna pay over sticker!!!!

I'm not too high on anybodies list... but i will buy any car that isn't a heinous color that I can get my hands on... or one off ebay if the gouging isn't too severe.
the thing with the ZR-1 is, I tend to suspect that GM will make more of them as quickly as possible and not keep it ultra-limited. Why not make as many as you can sell, put money in your (GMs) pocket instead of the stealerships, eliminate angry customers (that go shopping for vipers instead, apparently), and all of that?
Limited production of the carbon fiber parts... When that changes I think we'll see production move up to meet demand.
