In my opinion, I don't think the new ZR-1 will cause the C6 Z06 to be significantly discounted. Besides, didn't GM just RAISE the price of the Z06 this year? If I were you, I'd just get one now. Why wait?

Good luck with your decision.

I agree. It won't affect the price. I also wouldn't wait for the C7 Z, get one now if you're ready to buy.

I would like to get 1 now.but I Might have to sell my 02 z with 700 miles on it ....stock cond..
I Wonder how much its worth ?
I have a feeling they might kill the zo6 Program .Then I would rather have the 427 zo6.

700 miles over 6 years? I'm not sure if that'll help or not. It not always good to let a car sit around for that long undriven (seals dry out, etc.). I'd say high 20's to maybe 30 grand.

I think GM is aiming for a Corvette lineup similar to that of the Porsche 911. If that's the case, then they will always have a Z06 or similar type of car. The ZR-1 appears to be a GT type of car, a lot like the 911 TT, except without the AWD.

Then again, this is GM. They don't always do things that make sense.

Re: will this car lower the price of the c6 zo6 ??

I don't think the volume of ZR1's will significantly affect the price of a Z06. The pricing on the Z06 has already stabalized to the point you can now get a "deal" on one instead of paying a 5-15 thousand dollar markup. Good luck on your decision.

700 miles on an '02 Z06? Means no oil changes for five years? Time to get out and drive!

The one you have isn't even broken in! Shame to just let it sit.

Re: will this car lower the price of the c6 zo6 ??

The ZR-1 won't bring the cost of building the Z06 down at all and the Z06 and ZR-1 won't really be compeating for the same customers for the most part. As we have seen lately the Z06 can be bought for several thousand under MSRP so that is about as low as you can possibly hope for.

Re: will this car lower the price of the c6 zo6 ??

Z06's are now available at $8,500 or more below MSRP. I'm waiting for $12,500 below MSRP. It could happen, but not because of the ZR1.

Re: will this car lower the price of the c6 zo6 ??

just go ahead and buy the car... even with the realease of the ZR1, the Z06 is still one of a kind and it's a great car to own.
i'm sure prices will just go higher every year so don't wait too long if you're ready to buy then go ahead and enjoy driving one of the best cars on the roads today Z0sick
