Dealers have their numbers but are saying that GM won't let them release the numbers yet. Figure that one out. Why would GM care after they have made the allocation numbers available to the dealers?
Here is exactly what was sent to ZR1 dealers on Friday:
GM: "This is the first consensus for the 2009 ZR1. The June 2008 consensus for the Corvette ZR1 represents the 2009 MY ZR1 allocation for each Certified Corvette dealer. While this is a projection based on Chevrolet's estimated production schedule this is being done to assist managing expectations in line with the limited ZR1 production. In agreeing to accept ZR1 consensus each dealership also agrees to purchase a ZR1 Special Tool Package and to complete specific ZR1 required training. Once final June consensus results are final, a letter will be sent to each dealer confirming the 2009 "model year" consensus results and providing anticipated ZR1 allocation periods."

The allocation for the ZR1 doesn't seem to be following the usual norm with the highest volume dealers getting one or more versus a low volume Corvette dealer. My local dealer isn't going to get a 427 Z06 so I bought mine through Les Stanford in MI and did the NCM delivery (5/1/08). I took my SSR in for a minor thing last week and as soon as the dealer owner saw me sitting in the waiting room he had someone greet me and let me know they are getting 2 ZR1's. They said they sold only about 15 Corvette's last year, GM refused to give him a 427 Z06 and yet they are getting 2 ZR1's! No logic it seems. Price? "Nothing official yet" I was told and "wasn't sure about any special mark up or not". Only said traditionally the owner had never sold a car for more than MSRP. When I get an official price I'll let everyone know. We are in a suburb north of Chicago, IL.

Sad thing is some poor unfortunate will likely go for it. I know of at least one Ron Fellows edition that sold for north of $100,000 in the Seattle area.
And then the GM management can't figure out why they are no longer number 1 in sales. GM needs to clean house, get rid of the top management and put people in that know how to run a business. By the time they get done jacking around with this car those that want to buy will give up and buy something else. Same with the Camaro, two years short on getiing it to the public.

Now this is good thinking on GM's part. What happens if some guy is on a road trip, has an issue with the car and no dealership within a thousand miles to take care of the car?

Good question Tony. Wonder what the guys with heavy mods do? Soon as they replace engine internal part, bye-bye warranty.
