Re: ZR1 Price in GM system today

Any word on options? Either available packages (rumors seem to support a "luxury" package of some kind) or price of options?

Thank you.

Wow! I had hoped I'd be in the used ZR1 market in two years....
Looks like it'll be 3 now

I'm betting the 3LZ equivalent will be $125k-ish.

$115,000 MSRP for a new Chevy. We really are in the 21st century now.

Now there is a Corvette priced like a Porsche. Before when the Corvette or Z06 was compared to a Porsche the price difference was always a major factor. The new comparisons will be interesting.

The more I have been thinking about it, if I was in the market for a $125,000 worth of sports car, I think I would get the ZR-1 over many of the fantastic used cars in the $125K range.

Porsche 911T, Gallardo, GT3 etc.

Am I sick for imagining how cool it would be to buy the ZR-1, and then pull the FI setup out, and put in a crazy NA setup?

I am thinking that would make an insane HPDE car.. a 600+rwhp NA ZR-1 hehehe

Hell no, why would I get a car with less horsepower! I don't even drive the one I have now.

I was tempted to ask my dealer for a price in exchange for my Z06, but then I thought about it...

It is using the LS3 (?) engine, so this could be the demise of the 427, plus if I needed the extra power, I could put in a compressor. So although I like winding up dealers, I think I would pass on this one!

I will ask him though just for fun and let you know.

Anyone know what has changed apart from the engine tune to account for the price hike?

Quite a bit of model-specific stuff ... here's a link to a spec summary on the NCM site:
2009 Corvette ZR1
