What have members been told in your area will be the selling price of these cars ?? Kendall Chevrolet in South Miami told me last Saturday that they will get 2 ZR1's. Supposedly they are the largest Corvette dealer in this zone. They have at least 10 ZO6's in stock now , at least 1 427 edition and probably 40 Vettes in total.
I was told they have turned down $160,000 cash for their first car. This dealer is still asking for over sticker for their ZO6's. They have recently sold 2 ZO6's to customers of ours for maybe $2000 off sticker. They are out of touch with reality...but they move a ton of cars locally. If this dealer is typical of local stealerships , and I think they are......God bless us on trying to get a ZR1.
I really didn't expect any less.
I am #1 on the list at a local dealer. Not sure if they are going to get one, but should know on the 21st. I'm told that's the day they will get their allocations. I was also told MSRP. We will see.

Wow, that would be awesome!! Keep us posted.
As for my area, they are finally down to sticker on the "reg" Z06 but there are deals around.....you just have to find them.
I haven't even thought about asking on the ZR1........
I have cash in the bank for one; however, anywhere close to that price and I'm out of the game. I love the car but not that much - would either keep my Z or go ahead and sell it (I already have two buyers lined up) and buy a new Viper.
I'm just afraid that the market will be out of control for a good while on this car. There is plenty of crazy money out there waiting to fall off trees to claim bragging rights on new car models. The ZR1 is most certainly on the short list. The price of gas in this application is irrelevant. Same as gas prices affect a Z06 purchase decision. Irrelevant.
While I fully expect ZR1's to go for a premium, at least for a while, I am astonished to hear Z's selling for sticker, or more, at this time.
It seems that invoice, or better is the new norm in the Atlanta area for a new Z. I fully expected the product positioning of the new LS3 std vette and the new ZR1 to put price pressure on the Z. Sure enough, here it is.
I am waiting for them to add a real paddle shifter for the Z and I am there. Just waiting. Still love the C5Z and won't sell it. Wife said I could not buy another until I cleared one out to make garage space. Soooooo, I am building a new garage!
At the price these cars are going for, i dont think gas prices are a concern. If your worried about another 50 bucks a month going to gas, why are you buying a $100K car?

that's simple to answer. It's not the dealers fault...it's the buyer. Too much money and not enough brains Prices on these cars would be a lot cheaper if you have move buyers like me...you don't like the price, walk out. Done it plenty of times. Figured there's always an idiot that will walk in the door after I leave. Did it at Bill Heard and didn't even have to ask them for the price. Back in August, they had an 07 with the 08's already out. Walked in with the sales person, looked at the sticker...$10K mark up, $600 dealer prep(BS crap)...walked out. Their excuse was to keep the serious buyers only. Told them, serious buyers knows the market and Z06's at the time were already selling 5K below sticker.
