Had a blast at Atlanta Dragway for test and tune Friday 5/16, running my 2007 Chrysler 300 SRT8 for the first time on the strip. Spoke with a gentleman in a yellow 2008 Z06 for a bit. Ran in to him and his buddy who was driving a black Z06 (not sure of the year on this one but I think 2006) on the way home from the strip on 85 South. We ran tandom at 75-80 for a number of miles until we got out of "smokey danger zone" and the black one decided to play. Very impressive car- huge fun to watch how well the car reacted and to listen to how well the car sounds. I could not believe that I hung with him into the far reaches of the speedo- I have no idea how fast we were going as I did not look but feel sure it was 145+. I would venture to guess that he was just as surprised as me. A little later the yellow one got a little frisky so we played a bit as well but had to slow down pretty quickly due to traffic.
I am in the hopes that one of these two, or both, reads this and responds- I would love to know how fast we were going if either of you looked. It truly was a beautiful sight seeing your two Z06s going down the highway together- awesome cars!!!! I must admit that I was impressed with the level of performance and control that my 300 gave me as well, I would never have guessed that it could play with the big dogs and not be ashamed!!
