Anyone going or entered in this event. 20 teams of 4 cars each. Corvette, Viper, Cobra and a muscle car. A very kool event at Mc Clellan AFB in Sacramento. I'll have the 02 yellow with the black bra, CA plate, "BEE FAST", Mike
Mike,
If you have not already paid your reg fee and been assigned to a team, the best you can hope for is to send your (refundable) fee to Ken Mitchell (PM me if more info is needed) and show up on a "first come first serve" basis. IF there is a cancellation or a no show and you have paid and are first on the sign in sheet you MAY get assigned. It is a big IF ( but in the past there has been a slot or 2 on race day.
The format is : Friday Tech opens at 4 p.m. until 6-6:30. If the course is completed you may walk it. Saturday Tech starts at 7 a.m. with the first car out at 9 sharp. There will be 3... practice laps on Saturday and 4 timed laps. the course will be reversed on Sunday and the same format. Your best time on Sat and Sunday from the timed laps will be added to your teams collective time.
Cocktails are Sunday night at 5 p.m. prepaid dinner starts at 5:30 until about 11 p.m.
Hope this answers any questions...if you need more PM me.
Doc

Doc thanks for all the insight. I have already paid and have been talking to Ken, nice guy. I am the first in line for a slot. I have a friend with a Viper that was picked last week so Ken thinks my chances are good. Doing Stead this weekend with the 06 one day and the Testarossa the next. We have an enduro set for Sunday, last race for the season. Take a drive to Stead and come play.
Sounds like you have done the AMC before. Sending you a PM now with a few more questions. Thank you. Mike
You ever go over the hill the other direction? Jim, drives a blk 02... ASP class from SLT I believe. Eric is the time and stat keeper for the Reno region SCCA and is looking to buy a certain red 01 to replace his pewter coupe. I'm guessing you've already hooked up... both are great guys.
Yes I have been to Stead..but only for a few nights in AUGUST LOL
Doc
Doc, Eric is a great guy and fine driver. He and Jim with the black Mallett are faster than I. My wife's 06 is stock but I stay about 5-6 clicks from them on a 1:10 track. Not bad for street tires and a 55yo guy with Parkinson's. The MASTER is my hero John Perry in his coupe, John is Mr. Smooth and he has over 10 years on me. We have a fine group in Reno sort of a older crowd than Auto-X. I go to Sac in beginning of the year when it is NOT a blast furnace. DO the drags every other month and Thunderhill and Laguna a half dozen times a year.
Gordy the Reno SCCA is having two days of Autocross with Sunday a enduro layout. We normally have 40-60 cars and a fine group of men and woman drivers. The tarmac has just been seal coated and is good a tacky. The track is open to new members and we have a riot every other weekend, but this is the last for the season. I will be driving "BEE FAST" a 02 yellow Z06 with black bra. Come up and say hi. We start at 9am running. I am in the after lunch group and will arrive 10ish. Have a morning TV show on ABC Reno and Sacremento at 6:30am to do, "Live From The Lake". After the show I'll drive to stead. Hope to see ya, Mike
I think I'll jaunt up 395 a few miles and see you either on Saturday or Sunday. We are doing a Fall Colors run with the Reno club tomorrow afternoon so maybe I'll head to Stead mid morning prior. I drive an 03 blk/blk with Borlas. Hope to see you tomoorw and if not I'll definitely be up there on Sunday.
I know where the airport is. Is there anything special I need to do to get in to watch for awhile?
Gordy we run right in front of the grandstands. Just drive in the open gate near them, sign the wavier and we can hook up. Been to your Reno Vettes, I am the past pres of Lake Tahoe Corvettes, you have a nice club. Some of your members run the SCCA events. Have a early show to do, got to hit the hay, good night and hope to hook up with ya, Mike
