I'll be racing at BFR that day (last Midwest Council race of the season), or I'd be there. Only been to RA once this year, and I miss it.

What group are you guys in, what color cars, and what kind of times do you run? Where are you staying?

I'll be at the Osthoff with my friends who drive a Porsche 928 (..blue-gray). It's a husband/wife team: the husband does 2:33.2, and the wife 2:45.2. I'm hoping I can close the gap a bit on him this time out!

I am running in the Advanced group, my wife is in Novice. I have a silver '01 Z06 and a blue '00 Boxster S. As for times, I have never put a transponder on the cars so I don't have any idea what times we run. I stay at the Plymouth Inn.
SRV, I am curious about your 928. I have run against a few at PCA events and they seem very fast when stripped of all the heavy luxury items, however I have heard horror stories about how expensive replacement parts are. How has your experience been?

Actually, it's my buddy's 928, although I do own one which I drive on the street; I edited my above post for clarity.

Parts can be expensive, but if you do the labor yourself, it's not too bad.

With that said, 928's are GREAT cars; I'd recommend an '87 or later for the street.

My friend's car is an 84 Euro S. It puts out 275 rwhp and weighs 2700 lbs; that car really flies out on the track! It is also THE BEST sounding car out there bar-none. Not even the ALMS cars can come close. People come up all the time and remark on it's sound, with the best being Last October a guy came up and said it sounded like 'sex on wheels'.

Alright, here's a video from last year from an Infinity; 'fast forward' to 7:13:

(..that's me in hot-pursuit!)

The video came from here:

Look us up if you get the chance; we usually pit up at the top by the restaurant and walk-in restrooms.

I'm in the assertive group should be running low 2:30's. I have a stock Silver '04 on Hoosiers w/ IL plates.

great as usual, the weather was really nice this year. lots of track time for all too. on saturday was a bit windy but it was tail wind going down main straight, sunday was perfect. i think i saw the gray 928 with the headlight cutout - it was very quick, made me work to get away from him but it was a very nice "battle." in the last session i saw him stuck in kitty litter in canada with tire tracks going into a wall hope all is ok and no major damage. there were a couple of other incidents one particularly bad - red z06 looped it just after T6 and hit the wall hard. car's probably a total loss.

my own car ran well - i underestimated RA demands on brakes and was out of brake pads after 1st session on sunday. so i had to run on some used up left overs i had for the rest of the day. tried pushing it one session and brakes went away in T3 so i went off into the grass. after that i was taking it easy running 2:36-2:37 laps.

definitely need to bring 2 sets of front pads and some spare rotors.

driver was ok, car looked to be toast not sure if he's on here. best recorded time was 2;31.3 did it a couple of times - once with traffic, and another time on cracked rotors w/ my buddy in the car. pretty sure i dipped into 2:30's but my laptimer got knocked over by wind for the fast session so I can't proove it. Hoosiers are great - worth ~4 seconds over Toyo's at RA but they don't last at all. One of my fronts starting to cord on inside and on the outside after 2 weekends! I guess that's typicall.

a lot of sessions were not good for setting quick times either because of traffic or because someone would get burried in the kitty litter on teh warm up lap... oh well, there's always next year.

a friend of mine in a c5 w/ drm package was really hauling ass - he was running 2:25's.
