I was reading an old Road and Track were they compare the C5-R to the Z06 and they laid out the specs for each car side by side. Wow, I new those things were fast but not that fast. It states the 1/4 mile in 10.3 @ 136mph. I'm not sure what year the car was but they indicated 610bhp and 570tq.
What are the 2002 and 2003 specs for the C5-R's? Has the power gone up?
Wow, 10.3 seconds. Those cars must be a serious rush to drive! You would need a Lingenfelter TT to hang with one!
At the Monterey Historics at Laguna Seca in August, as part of Corvette's 50th celebration, they had the C5R that had just won Le Mans doing victory laps between races. It made all the other cars in the vintage races look like they had been standing still. The C5R screams! It was unbelievable how fast he went over the hill just before the hairpin. He got to go as fast as he wanted, there were no other cars on the track for him to dodge.
I saw him at the top of the cork-screw stop and then burn rubber all the way down the hill. He put on quite a show. That was one great week-end. In fact the whole week was great with the NCRS cars at the Double Tree and the Concurs De Elegance at Pebble Beach. .........who could ask for anything more.
They made the track a little wider by putting on a new hub and longer A Arms
They will have a 50th Anniversary Red Stripe
I have heard that they will change color to the new LeMans Dark Blue Metallic either for the LeMans race, after the LeMans race or for next year to introduce the new color.
There may be an air inlet change as the newer pics show the hood with deleted NACA vents and Z06 type front screens in addition to the front radiator screen.
There was a switch from the BBS Magnesium wheels to OZ's to accomadate a larger back spacing secondary to the wider track.
The gas filler neck was moved from the rear window area to the side body panel.
I've seen a few C5R's (ALMS) and man when they start up ...wow. I thought I saw a video of one .. maybe it wasn't a C5R that was at a drag strip and getting loose at half track and still was in the in the 10 range ...

In that video that you refer to it was Lou Giglotti in his T/A Corvette. In that vid he obviously could not hook up, but I believe later he did a 9 something!
