California Dragway(Fontana) Experience?

Has any one raced there on the street legal racing days? They accept the first 500 cars only. Is it worth the time? Any info greatly appreciated.

We have raced there several times. It's not bad if you are 1 driver 1 car. It's a pain in the a$$ for 2 drivers 1 car. They call cars by imports and domestics. Usally crowded in the a.m. then thins out in the afternoon. I prefer Carlsbad even though it's a hour further from our house

Being from Bakersfield I think Famoso would be better bet for you

12 Second Momma, how's the surface for traction? Is it VHT'd? Famoso is closed for the winter except for private rental. Even that may be out this year because of major resurfacing.

They do spray it with VHT. It's hit & miss. The problem is they try to force you do drive the entire car though the water I got lucky 1 day was able to drive it around it & cut a 1.99 with street tires. Pat on the other hand even though he tired to drive around there was water everywhere.

Being that I have only run Famoso once I can't give you time differences between the 2 tracks. I do know same day California Speedway in a.m. and Carlsbad in the p.m. our SS ran .15 & 1 mph slower at California Speedway

I think the next weekend California Speedway is open is Dec 14-15
