These coil packs are butt-ugly, in the way, and I imagine not the most effective spark. So, what is the best route to go to replace these? Also, would like the name of someone making nice valve covers. Heads, cam, rockers, rods and springs down the road.

don't sue me but just keep you engine covers on and nobody will see what's behind them . i don't know of any other means of getting rid of these coil packs w/o removing and wiring an entire ignition system big $$$$. these individual coil packs are very reliable i have not heard any thing negative about them besides cost i believe they are $80.00 a piece x 8 . and by the way stick with original gm parts regarding drive line parts they offer a 1 year warranty after market vendors do not offer any warraty on there parts which is bull shit.
Sold! I'm want the best, and if GM stock is best in this regard, I won't change a thing. Thanks guys. At least there isn't 42 replies w/42 different opinions on this one.

don't bite your tongue yet give it time everyones passed out from eating turkey.
I have researched for aftermarket coils and there are not any made to actually replace the stock ones. Some can be adapted but they are not as or better than the stock ones.
BTW. Katech uses truck coils on the C5R. KaTech and LG Motorsports have indicated that they have coil relocation mounts but I have not seen them. Halltech does have a nice Coil relocation mount with longer plug wires which enables you to use the KaTech C5R Valve Cover.
The reason for replacing the stock coils is to get a higher voltage and quicker rise time. But the stock ones are adequate for all street applications and most racing applications as well. In fact the stock coils output voltage is underrated. The performance will fall off slightly when affected by heat. You can alleaviate this by removing the plastic red covers (if allowed to) when you race.
This ignition system is really top of the line. You can Improve it slightly by using better plugs such as Beru Silverstone thru Nology or NGK's. Also by upgrading the plug wires to KV85's or Nology "Hot Wires" is another way to go. In short.....leave the coils alone or relocate them if necessary for appearance sake only.
Thanks for the info DJWorm. I understand that the stock coils are highly effective and I am not really looking to improve upon them at this point. My idea is definately to relocate for appearance sake only. I want to go fast, but I am also looking for a particular look under the hood. I still haven't heard back from KaTech regarding their reloaction parts. I will also check w/Halltech.
