$50,000.00 for a matching numbers 67 red/convt. would have to be a CC 3 or 4 car. Beware.
Do your homework before investing in the older covettes. I'm a member of the NCRS also and can only tell you to contact the
www.ncrs.org before buying. I restored my 67 (435hp) and it cost me about what your looking for to just restore it correctly.
There are lots of restamped drive trains on these cars because of the money they can get. Small block cars with big blocks etc.
You can buy window stickers, tank sheets, and the POP from people so you have to be very careful when you put the big $$$ up for something that may be fake. if the cars have NCRS Flight awards then you can feel safe the car has real documentation.
Just my opinion but I'm being honest with you so use caution on these cars if you don't know what your really getting into.
If you do find a 67 BB/convt. let me know and I'll tell you what to look for such as caps not clamps for the 1/2 shafts, F41 syspension, steel oil sending line, red line and oil pressure gauges, build date on back of gauge cluster, vin and bhuild dates etc. Also original vs after market N14 side exhaust. Where to look for actual casting numbers on block, tranny, rear end and what they mean.
Remember these cars are over 30 years old and who really knows what they hae been through or where they have been. That's where the documentation comes in.
Good luck.
