Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada presents Corvette Track Days & BBQ November 4 & 5, 2006.
$300.00 includes 2 full days of Track Time, a shirt & Saturday night BBQ.
Advanced, Intermediate, Novice & Beginner run groups. Previous experience required for Advanced & Intermediate. Helmets are required. Convertibles MUST have roll bar.
We will be running the full 3.5 mile track including the new Radical Loop.
It's the 3.1 mile course and I've already sent in my registration for Cindy and myself. I love that track!
Joe, we look forward to seeing you and Cindy. We are talking about using the 3.1 track on one day and the 3.5 track the other, but never know until that morning. The 3.5 lets us include Turn 4 and the double apex of Turn 5. Which do you prefer?
Janet...a couple of questions. What sort of accomodations are available in the area? Im thinking for meals and a place to sleep.
Also I am guessing we bring our own cars. Im not sure what the roads will be like in Idaho by Nov. but I sure am interested. I suppose I could find a trailer and haul my Z down if it is snowy. Do you have Z06's for rent there as well?

Okay, I am not Janet , but FWIW, I stay at the Pahrump Nugget. I like their steakhouse. Then grab breakfast in their cafe. The track is so close to town I go back for lunch. Typical array of fast food joints.

Thanks for your reply.

Thanks to Steve for answering some of the questions.
Sorry, but we are not renting School Corvettes for this event. You will need to bring your own Corvette. We will have people coming from Utah, Colorado and Nebraska for this event, so it had better not be snowing.
Spring Mountain is just outside of Pahrump Nevada. There are 3 Hotels in Pahrump, The Pahrump Nugget Hotel & Casino (1.866.751.6500) which has restaurants, including a 24 hour coffee shop. There is the Saddle West Hotel & Casino (1.775.7275953) that also has a coffee shop (not 24 hour). There is also the Best Western Pahrump (1.775.7275100) with a continental breakfast. Ask for the Spring Mountain block of rooms for this weekend at all 3 hotels.
Thanks for your replies to my questions. Ive also looked over the Spring Mountain web site. I think Ive gone past the point of no return and will probably be attending even if I have to put a snow plow on the front of my Z to make it out of my driveway.
Two days of track driving and a barbque sounds like lots of fun.
One last question...what are the basic car preparation items I will want to take care of prior to coming down...based on your observations of rookies over the year?
Steve, timing will be available, but there are only a limited number of transponders, so get yours early.
Preparation for a DE is just like planning a long trip, only more so. Check ALL fluids. Check your brakes, both rotors and pads. Check ALL lines and belts. Check your tires. Clean off any accumulated junk from the front of the radiator. For a C5 add 1/2 to one quart of oil and bring an extra quart with you. For a C6 Z06 do NOT add extra oil. Bring a good tire pressure gauge and check your pressures before and after each session.
Remove everything from inside of car, no garage door openers, no radar detectors, no CDs, no cell phones, no flash lights - NOTHING, NADA, ZIP. Anything can become a missile, hit you in the head, get underneath the accelerator, clutch or brake pedals.
Don't forget about yourself - bring sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, water, juice, a folding chair. Make sure that you are hydrated before, during and after the event. Bring layered clothing. It will be cold early in the morning, it could warm up during the day. You will get HOT during your driving time on the track. Have a good fitting helmet, gloves, long sleeve shirt and pants. Driving shoes or flat bottomed (not lugged) tennis type shoes will make it easier for you to feel the pedals.
Optional is some painters or gaffers tape to protect the front, rockers and fender areas of your car. This tape can also be used to become numbers on your car.
Get lots of rest prior to the event. You will have a great time and meet lots of great people. It is the people that make this event so special.
