DE event at Mid-Ohio July 10 and 11. Anyone interested?

Event is organized by the Northern Ohio Porsche club.
I have instructed with these folks for 18 years and they are a great group.
Let's see how many Corvettes we can get on track.
Weather is usually good in July there.
To get an online application:
Go to NORPCA.ORG
Click on Driver's Ed
Click on Mid-Ohio

Do you know what the rules are regarding passengers for this event?

Corvette Dave-

I will be at the July event. I will also be participating in the Northern Ohio BMW CCA event May 29/30 at Mid-Ohio. Check their website for details

xsiveone-
generally passengers are not permitted to ride unless they are registered in the DE and are riding in the instructors car. Sometimes instructors are able to drive students cars with the student as the passenger but this is unusual in my experience, particularly at Mid-Ohio.

I got spoiled with the DE's that I attend. There aren't any passenger rules other than you can only have someone in the front seats at the DE's that I go to. I'd like to be able to ride along or have someone ride along during the sessions without either driver having to be an instructor.

Matt,
Thanks for the info.
I have also instructed for the BMW clubs there. They too, are a very good group. Nice cars, good people.

X,
I can't answer the question of why no passengers. It could be a track rule, a club rule, or part of the club's insurance policy for the event.

It's most likely a combination of both. I believe that I read somewhere where the track rule at Mid-Ohio is not to allow passengers that aren't participants of the event. The no-passenger rule for ANYONE unless you are with an instructor is probably an insurance rule for the PCA.

These rules are fine if you're there by yourself with your car, but it kind of bites if you have someone along as a co-driver or if you invite some friends along for a ride-along. Like I said, I sure get spoiled by the track events that I do attend.

Man Dave, I wanna go. I'll have to take a look at our schedules and let you know. Thanks for driving up to Mid-Ohio this past week for the MORPCA event. It was great to see you. Talking with you and Dave Roush about driving was a great learning experience for me. Having Dave go for a ride with me was a blast. He gave me some great pointers and is a really nice guy!

You asked in your pm about my temps. Late in the day on Thursday the temp got up to around 85. My oil temp went to 271, and my coolant temp got to 210. I was thrilled with how well the car did. I can't wait to do it again!!
