I believe T1 rules are written such that the C6 will be eligible?

Don't think this in itself means C5 Z06 is uncompetitive, but in 2006, when the c6z is ther, that could be an issue....

Yes, it likely will be outdated quickly.
Looking at your other post I would think about the following.
A whole bunch of C5 T1 cars will be coming on the market and the new C6 Z06 or even C6 will be about $70k prepped to start for the C6 who knows what the Z06 will be.

This is vs. a used Phoenix Nationally competitive prepped C5 Z06 T1 car for upper 30's low 40's.

Because of the above facts I think all these vette's are going to need some place to play as people buy them so NASA might pick up a bit over the next two years with the VVC.

If it is your first wheel to wheel experience starting cheaper is always better unless you have deep wallets.
To be competitive in T1 plan on a hell of a big investment in tires, parts, etc..

Go to a few SCCA regional events, NASA events,etc.. and talk to folks. You'll get a good idea what things cost, if you like the group,etc.. You might find you like Spec Miata or Amercian Iron even more.. who knows

Rumor is the SCCA will not classify the C6 Z06 in T1. The 500 HP Viper has been out for a few years now and it is not legal either.

No one yet knows how the C6 will fair against the C5 Z06. I think they will be close enough that the C5 Z06 will be competitive in T1 for several more years.

While the C6 Z06 looks to be an awesome track car, especially for the cost, if it really does have an aluminum frame, plan on spending some serious $$$ if you wreck one.

Is the c6 classified in T1 yet? Have they realeased specific rules for it?

C6 is legal for 2005 T1 racing.

Same weight and wheels/tires as C5.

Joe at Phoenix said C6 Z06 will not be legal in T-1. Cost to fix it will be way more than a C6 or C5 due to aluminum frame. It would also eliminate all the C5s from being competitive and reduce number of cars and competition.
