i have a halltech and a tune, and put down 380rwhp on 21st CMC dyno, which most agree is a little conservative. how would i fair against a GTO supercharged putting down 470rwhp. and we can go from a 50 punch? is it curtains for my z, or is there perhaps enought weight and aero edge to make up 90 hp? thoughts?

Divide the rwhp into the weight on both cars and then compare. Other variables such as gears, driver abilities, aerodynamics, traction, auto tranny in the GTO(?), etc. could have a measurable effect.
Based on the HP figures you've given in your post, your competition has the edge by a fairly good margin unless that torque monster of his lightes up the tires at 50mph and you can jump him. Once you're ahead of him at higher speeds it will be hard for him to catch up....."go little Z06....."

I think I'd start in 2nd gear!!
Good luck
not even a question, 50 in 2nd gear...that's why i mentioned 50, and then he posted sure. luckily i know a track that lets you begin from a roll. i think i might have a chance to jump at the first then maybe hold him off, will the dallas heat adversely affect his supercharger more than me?
and, figuring a car weight of about 3700 for him gives him 7.82 pound/hp...with me at about 7.97pounds/hp, sounds pretty good given that 50mph second gear sweet spot.
The GTO is 3725 lbs vs the Z06 at 3100 lbs. Given the numbers you provided, the wt/hp ratio is not that much different, that's about 7.9 vs 8.1 lbs per hp. That is pretty even. For a simple drag race it's just a matter of reaction time, the gear you can get in at that speed and how good each gets traction. Throw a turn or two in there and the Z06 probably takes it pretty easy.

now it looks like the guy with driver in it weighs in at 4200 pounds, so it should've been a pretty good beating by the Z, i get the feeling he won't run me after i told him i weighed 3240 with me in it and a litte less than 1/2 tank! go Z

Damn GTOs. I'd have one now if they didn't weigh in at 4.5 metric tons
Should be a good rizace. Just to compare I know that most 03+ cobra's that are pullied and chipped have around that same horsepower. 450-470rwhp. It usually is a drivers race from a dig but from a roll the cobra's are usually 1 or 2 cars ahead with a stock Z.
You have around 30 more hp than a stock Z and the gto weighs 100lbs more that the cobra so it should be a pretty tight race.
Like others have said, only one way to find out for sure. Video plz?
am trying guys, the desire to run isn't lacking on my end, like i said there was a little smack before the weights were brought up, win or lose, i want to see how a lightly modded Z stacks up against a procharged goat.
