Drag Radials

Does anyone have any feedback on BFG's versus Nitto tires. I ahave an 03 Z. Using BFG I would have to drop to a 17" wheel, whereas Nitto makes an 18". Also looking for feedback on wheels, I would only bolt them on at the track, not for everyday use.

Welcome to the site

May understanding is the Nitto's for Corvettes won't be out until I think March.

As far as traction goes BFG's will hook better then Nitto's at the track

Thanks for your welcome. I really enjoy the site. I appreciate your feedback on the BFG's. The Nitto's are out now, but maybe to early to get any feedback on them.

Be careful the 18" Nitto's out now are oversize. I don't think they will fit on the Z... Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Stick with the BFG 315 DR. I have cut a best of 1.85 and have only had 6 runs to practice with that. Im gonna keep trimming those sixty foot times down until i get atleast into the 1.7X range.

Ranger and Powershifter both have excellent 60fts on the same tires....

canuck, I think 12sec has it right the nitto that's available right now was intended for the lighting and is @28" to tall to be good on a stock Z06. As far as nitto vs. bfg, I had a very hard time trying to get the nitto to hook on my stick cars compared to the bfg. The nitto is very close if not equil to the bfg on auto cars at the track, and better on the street in handeling and wear. That's how I see it anyway. Ric

BFG 18" drags due out in 6 sizes April 03. Watch the site for updates.

Nitto 18" Drag. Currently made in 305-45-18 (Lightning only!) New sizes expected early summer.

Nittos love auto trans
BFGs work better with manual trans.

Ive cut a best of 1.52 60 ft on 275-40-17 Nittos in my auto 2000 Camaro SS.

BFGs are always sticky. BFGs hook better on the street. BFGs wear very very quickly. BFGs are scary in the rain.

Nittos rely on lots of heat. Nittos will match a BFG on the track under proper conditions. Nittos are ok for the street. Nittos are ok in the rain. Nittos wil at least double the life of a BFG.
