Drag Times and Dyno Run for stock Z06

I just got back from the 2004 Central Florida Supra Meet and have the following results from my first drag run and first dyno pull. I ran the car on F1's @ 32psi and also compared the drag numbers to my Tazzo accelerometer. The Tazzo is surprisingly accurate to within a 10th of a second. Anyways, just thought ya'll might have some comments/ advice for me on my drag run... Thanks.

David

did you add anything to car on the second pull? why did it dyno higher? i am no expert but from what i can see you got the car of the line quickly(2.175 is not too bad) but you had a somewhat low ET.. and the only way i could justify that is if you either took ur time shifting or u missed a gear or your shifting before the shift point 6500-6600. ur miles need to be higher(again this is related to the shifting problem i told you)

good luck!

My best guess is the car was babied to the dyno and possibly on the second pull the car recalculated the ecu maps for better power. Nothing was changed on the car though. As for the ET, I think the track was very sticky and I noticied the car would bog somewhat more than it does on the street. Car has 5000 miles on it.

Search for post on the subject. J-Rod and Ranger both did them. Good luck improving your et and mph.

The nearly +10hp gained on the second pull is not an accurate measurement. Note the "spike" right at your revlimiter shutdown point (6600 rpm). Also, the first run probably experienced knock retard, so it wasn't a "good" run either. The second run's power curve is smoother and your peak power appear was about 350 rwhp (6000 rpm), but again, you lost a little timing advance on that run too. A "norminal" factory stock LS6 Z06 ('02 or later) averages about 355 rwhp @ 6000 rpm. Were you making these pulls on a hot engine? If so, that will make the results less than optimum.

I noticied the spike as well, but I seem to remember seeing that spike on a lot of other ls1 dyno runs. The engine was around 200 degree coolant temp as I have stock fan settings, but it was allowed some cooldown between runs.
