Drag Tire Questions

I am a complete novice at drag racing. As you can see from my sig, I am modding my car, and I would like tire and wheel recommendations for the drag strip.

I plan on getting a set for strip use only. Note, the car is being mini-tubbed. I probably would only race it a couple of times per year but would like something to help hook up all this hp & torque. Any suggestions, ball park cost figures, and expected life of tire info would be appreciated.

Hey. Zdog.

Since you are sparing no expense in putting together a performance monster, I would suggest you have LPE provide the drag tire set up he routinely uses. Believe that entails skinny fronts and ET-Streets in the rear. Getting them from LPE will ensure that everything fits and is size matched to your brakes/suspension components.

While you are at it, you might have John L. make a few passes and a few more launches with you riding shotgun. May as well learn from a master how to get all that power to the ground.

Nothing beats the Complete Custom Wheels. I know most of the big guys use them. SW has a set on his beast. I have the road race/AutoX on mine.
