Easiest way to mount anti-submarine strap?

I have two 5 pt. harness systems (Autopower to Autopower roll bar) but no metal under z06 floor at front of seat to mount the anti-sub belts to. Anyone know of a ready made bracket that these could be mounted to or belts long enough to go to rear seat belt bolts?

May have to switch to Brey-Kraus 6 pt. but that's quite a bit more expensive and not ideal for an upright seat.

Thanks!

Lowered 1/2 inch, K & N filter, trying without air box cover (K & N tie wrapped) on occassion, Hurst shifter, Autopower racing rollbar (4 point-bolt in), two autopower 5 pt. restraints (easily removed), fire extinguisher for SCCA SOLO I hillclimbs, and other SOLO I events (eg. Summit Pt. timed laps on Jefferson Circuit). Broke decade old record in first hillclimb (Duryea in Reading, PA) for ASP class on Hoosier autocross tires (on stock wheels).

Best 1/4 mi. 12.69 @113.5 (F-1's w/ heavy OEM wheels, low rpm launch)

One solution

If using a stock seat, look at the front mounting brackets that bolt the seat to the floor. Each one has a hole in the front of the bracket. You could bolt or weld an piece of angle iron or channel iron across the face of the brackets. Then drill a hole in the center of the angle or channel to mount the belt. The legs of the channel iron or angle iron gives you a shear web that resist the small bending load that a sub-belt would see in a crash.

Or another
The best over all solution. Is purchase a Corbeau Forza, ~$220, and fabricate a bracket. Then remove the stock seat on track days and put in the Corbeau on track days. High speed driving on the track with lots of g's does not require the "grip of death" on the steering wheel to hold on. Makes high performance driving less fatiguing. Now that is what I did and your application make vary.

Good Luck.

Thanks TX! I lived in Houston for 10 yrs. before I moved back East 2 yrs. ago. I may consider that seat if the 5 pt. doesn't do the trick but I'd like to stick w/ an adjustable seat while I have it and see how much the harness does alone. My racer doubles as my daily driver. Any idea if the SCCA would approve a belt attached to a cable (metal/1/4inch) looped through the two reat seat belt eyebolt mounts? Hard to tell reading the GCR.

I am really a native of the Peoples Republic of California and have live in Texas for the last 12 years. The cost of living of the Dallas Fort Worth area is excellent compared to California. So life is good!

I have heard of others using the cable set up. I don't if the attitude of "do it and ask forgiveness later" applies here.

Again I am going to suggest a seat. I just looked at you profile and see that you are a retired pilot. So you understand the whole seat / harness setup. I can not say enough about the seat I have in my car.

I fabricated and designed a seat adapter bracket for the Corbeau. I integrated a slider so the only adjustment is forward and aft. I got one of our stress designers to help in the design. So I guess I could say there is some Aerospace technology behind the design. If you want I could send you some pictures of the adapter and seat. Just let me know

There was a great flight simulator near Dallas and the Six Flags area a few years ago. An F-16, F-111, and maybe an F-8. May be gone now.

I'll let you know if I decide to try the seat. The possiblility of some adjustments helps.
