I have been told that I would not see much of a difference at the drag using ET Streets instead of ET Drags. Has anyone tried this difference and if so what was the time difference?
Say I ran a 11.0 with Streets, if the exact same launch was done on Drags what do you think the time would be? 10.8? 10.5?
I am pretty sure they are made of very similar compound so I would not expect a difffernce in ET. The differnce is the Street being DOT will allow you into some DOT tire races.
Et drags are supposed to have a slight more wrinkle and are not street legal. I don't think you will notice much of a difference if any. Also, not sure if they make them in 16's.

Didn't know Hoosier made 16's.. Hmmm.. Have you looked at M&H ?? they have a 16" which is like the Et Streets.
One thing about the ET drag Radial, 16's won't be out too soon.. But i'm not sure about.. I was at MIR Budds Creek Maryland 2 weeks ago, saw a guy with a new set but don't know what size they were.

my best 60fts on DR is high 1.6s but most of the time low 1.7s...i see lots of sigs with 1.5 60ft on ET Streets...seems to me ET Streets with 12lbs tire pressure and 6000rpm launches or big stall converters are the ones getting 1.5 60fts

Not sure what the best tire is but I believe a slick will work better for the serious drag racer than the MT et street radial. JMO so far despite what some people from MT claimed and that article mentioned. I guess we'll know soon! I've seen h/c cars cut 1.42 and 1.43's on the MT et streets and just think it would be hard to top that with a radial.

One other thing that has been brought up previously on other threads is that the ET Streets or Hoosiers will be considerably easier on your rear end than the drag radials. The sidewall flex, not found in DR's, siphons off some of the initial torque at launch and can help prevent breakage on the half shafts and main shaft.
Something to think about...
If I'm not mistaken, the 17" ET Street is a drag tire with the same composition and sidewall as the 16" ET Street. It is not a radial DR.
I haven't seen it, but that is my understanding.
17 inch et streets will fit no problem and are the same compound as the 16 inch et street. Keep in mind that et streets are narrow tires and don't fit well on wide rims. I think 9 inch rims are ideal. Alot of guys run 17 et streets just on the rears but at high mph they can get a bit squirly on the high end with stock tires up front. Just something else to think about.
