Although Iam not a ET guy, my 02 finally hit the 11 second mark...I am a mph guy, but I must admit that a 11 second car has a nice ring to it...We went to a track rental @ Famoso and were hoping for low low DAs but it never got better than 1200 all day...Had several 12.00 to 12.06 runs but second to last run was a 11.997 @117.73...Mph's were from 117.21 to 118.11...Was very consistent all day...

Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid...John Wayne.
Si vis pacem, para bellum.
Very Nice run. Congratulations. I have yet to run the 1/4 mile since I added headers (see sig for existing mods). I did run a 7.69 at 92 mph (1.79 60' w/ BFG DR's) in the 1/8 mile 2 days ago. I figure that should put me in the 11.8 - 11.9 range. My previous best was 12.2 at 117 mph. with just intake and exhaust.
Questions:
What mods, if any?
Looks like you had different tires on rear, Drag radials?
What were your time slip #'s (60 ft, 1/8 mile, etc.)

MYZO6, my mods are in my sig, probably the same as yours...The car ran 115.05 when it was brand new in showroom condition with a full load of gas with 3K on it...It has always MPH'd well...Most Z's here in Socal usually run 3 to 5 mph less than me at the local tracks...We went to Famoso with the hopes of getting some great DA's...The track rental organizer had said he had recorded some Negative DAs prior to yesterday and I was hopeful we would get the same...Not so, the DAs went from 1200 to 2000... I would love to race at an Atco type track some day and get some higher MPH runs...If I get into a race at all, its usually late at night and horsepower takes the flag...The car has about 160 runs on it now and has never had a clutch problem of any kind...I don't dump it as I have seen alot of Vettes break doing that...I launch at 3 grand and ride it out, sorta...My technique is just safe for me as my best of 1.92 60ft is not that stellar...The tires are BFG DRs and are not that great...It ran 2.0 60s with F1s and a best of 1.92 with BFGs so I am not the best launcher but AGAIN, it has never broke...Here is the breakdown
Sorry, about the mods question. I overlooked your sig on the original post. :bang:
I totally agree with your launch technique with regards to clutch preservation. I launch the same, but have gradually incresed launch rpm. I started at 3500 rpm, but have been yielding better 60' with higher rpm launches. I, like you, was getting 1.9 at 3500 rpm. But, now I'm at 1.75-1.80 launching at 5000 rpm. I let out the clutch quickly and smoothly...I never dump the clutch. The car has at least a 100 on it and still no clutch problems.
Z06Machine, I did run the Z16 but we had some temp issues and left lots of HPs in the staging lanes....Give me a calll and I'll tell you about it...You should go to the next track rental at Fontana...I'm told it will probably in late Jan. or early February...I'll keep you posted.
MYZO6, I may try that next time and see ir it helps...Watch the video Kat posted and you will see what it does...
