First Qtr Mile Pass W/ Z

Well it wasn't exactly the best weather for racing Saturday at Fontana,(100 deg, 1100 ft & 20 mph head wind) but here are my times.

12.82 @ 112.2 w/ 2.11 60' 1.19 rt
12.74 @ 113.4 w/2.15 60' .859 rt
12.67 @ 114.99 w/2.16 60' & .589 rt

Not to bad for street tires and my first time ever in the Z!

Jason

Halltech, LS1 Edit (Thanks Jim!), MSD wires, TB bypass & 160 t-stat

BTW, I raced a modded 03' Cobra twice(pulley, cold air setup & chip). The first time he got me out of the hole and beat me by .15 and the second time I beat him by .25. You cannot let those things get the jump, because they are a bitch to reel in.

Thanks Greg!

Yea that was me you saw out there. I can't wait 'till they get some rubber on the launch pad. The first 300' is impossible to hook, especially with the F1's.

I saw your ride also. It was parked right behind our motor home. I dug on your plates, and the chromed stock rims looked sweet. How much did they cost?

Also, where did you run that 12.21 on the F1's?

I ran the 12.21 with my posted mph there @ Fontana with a 2.04 60 ft...I have run a 118.91 there @ Fontana before...
I'm going to sell the wheels soon...I've ordered some others, my 4th kind...I get tired of wheels quickly...If you want to buy in a month or so let me know...

What were the track conditions like when you ran the 12.21? That is great time for that track!

Yea, I am interested in the rims. What would you want for them, and are they factory rims or aftermarket?

Jason....Conditions were about the same as yesterday with more headwind...Temp was about 85ish...Fontana always has a headwind in the afternoon and it's always hot there... I hate the place but it's all we have in Socal @ 1/4 mile...My first day @ Fontana last year I ran 115.51 in similar conditions as Saturday...My car has always mph'er faster than most...I have my own theory on that but who knows... The wheels are factory thru West Coast Corvette...PM me for a price...

Robz...I am certainly not a tire expert...My whole thing is hp and mph...I will concede to some, that they can leave better than I can...But 99 % of the tuning sessions I get into are on the freeway, late at night when conditions are kinda, sorta safer...
I got into the e.t. thing about 3 months ago and bought some BFG Drag radials and CCW.s for the rear...Went to the drags, made 3 passes and only brought the 6o ft down to 1.96..Whoopie frickin do !!! One of the problems here in Socal is that the track is not open very often so it's a long time in between sessions... I should sell those wheels and tires also...The wheels and tires are sweet but the tires take alot of practice apparently...I really don't want to flog my car just to test and tune drag radials...

Those are damn good times for Fontana in 100° Heat

Congrats

PS: If you don't mind a little dirt you could always go to Carlsbad and get more passes & they are open every Saturday

Thanks 11 second momma.

Yea, I'm familiar w/ Carlsbad. I ran my best time ever when I had my 2000 WS6 Trans Am. I ran an 11.87 at 118mph. I hope to have the Z to that level some day soon.
