My best 60 was 2.3 I think I can improve a lot in my launch. I thought I would be able to get into the 12.s, but having never drag raced before I guess I didnt do to bad.

I had the same reults my first time about 3- years ago. Keep at it, it's addictive.

The first time I went to the drag strip was at the 2004 Z06 Fest. My 12th pass was 12.944 @ 113.96 in a totally stock 2003 Z06, it came after 11 straight passes in the 13's. A little more pratice and you should be able to crack the high 12's.
Good first outing ... there's a post somewhere listing 20 things rookies screw up on and I think I checked off 17 of them my first outing
I had a best of 2.214 60', 13.048@112.78 my first outing in Sep '04. Ran four complete passes. burned my clutch on the fifth
Never went out again until Sep '05 ... stock except for K&N filter.

Rock - That was my first time out stock too! Mine is not a Z, but FRC and yet, well, I still got 13.8. Like the other say, seat time works. I bet you were jittery watching that tree count down like I was. I been to track only 4 times and went from 13.8 to 13.3 in one day.....13.3 to 12.8 the 2nd time out.....12.8 to 12.3 third time out...and 12.3 to 11.9 4th time out. The 13.8 to 12.8 was with my new forged 402 set up and the 12.8 down to 11.9 was seat time and adding a VaraRam Vr2B. Thats it!
Only 4 times on the track. So, if I can do it, you can too! Just be confident and stay focused on teh track.
