first time to track

just purchased an 02 z with less than 6k on the clock. I took it to the track today for the first time. The placed was packed and could only get two runs in. Temp was in the mid 40's with 10-20 mph winds.
I was a bit disappointed with my time, however, now I realize it takes practice to launch these cars.
1st run
13.54 @ 107.34 (2.26 60ft)
spun hard first to second and hit rev limiter in 2nd to 3rd - to 4th.
2nd run
13.44 @ 109.7 (2.23 60ft)
Same as above, however short shifted 1st to 2nd
I did not powershift on any of the runs

Need advice on how to improve and how much does hitting the rev limiter kill ET and MPH
I plan on going back next saturday....thanks

rev limiter

based on my ET/MPH
What did the poor 60ft and hitting the rev limiter cost me in ET/MPH?

Excellent advice:
I had never been up against the tree before.
I printed out, read, and thought I comprehended Ranger's instructions.
Recommend you do same before next Sat.
My best on my outing - Sep 12, Capitol Raceway, Crofton, MD, ambient temp in lo 70's.
(only 5 runs) (from memory) was 2.2 + 60', 13.048/112.78 ... I quit at 5 'cause I was clearly doing something wrong on staging prep, launch and shifts, and I overheated my clutch.
