First time at track today

Went to Richmond Dragway today. We had the track from 9-3 with only about 15 cars.

It was awesome.

My best time was 12.40 @ 115.77 MPH with no traction, stock tires with 22lbs

I made 20 runs today.

It was like street racing but without the police chasing you

You are hooked, no doubt about it. Not easy getting traction on those F1's, is it? How were your 60's? My guess is that you were in the 2.0x-2.1x range.

Don

Yes, good guess 2.00 in 60ft

Bad reaction .8772 but I was more concerned with getting traction

IVO,
Sorry I missed this thread last night, thanks for responding
Bro! Great times, and I bet you are hooked on drag racing now, huh? Traction on the F1's is kinda marginal, but I turned better times on them at BG than the drag radials I borrowed later in the day, but the track conditions were marginal at best as the day wore on, so I am sure that had alot to do with it. When are you planning on trying it again at the track? There are a couple of things you might try to improve your 60 ft. times which will better your et also.
Lower tire pressure to 18-20 psi, and pump up the fronts to 40psi. Try launching at 3000-3200rpm, let the clutch out
quickly and smoothly to get the tires spinning hard and as soon as the car gets moving, let off just enough to get some bite, as soon as the tires start to bite, ease the go pedal all the way down and power shift every gear right at redline.
I bet your et will improve by a significant amount. (2 to 3 tenths) and you will be even more addicted to the 1/4 mile!

Don't worry about reaction times for now, all that comes later with more seat time and practice.
I am going to the track next weekend for the closing events and am going to race my friend Steve's kid who has an '03 Cobra that is pretty badass. I am not sure what is going to happen, mainly because the track that is close to here is at 4800 feet elevation and an N/A car like my Z is at a big disadvantage against a blown car like a Cobra. This is going to be interesting and I am really up for it! (I hope to teach the little shit a lesson) At any rate, we are going to have a bunch of videos to post no matter what the outcome, and I will need someone to host the videos for me, but I will make sure they get on the site!
Sorry for the long winded discourse, but I am just trying to help if I can! Later Bro! Jim

I used to go there when I lived in Richmond.
Fun track but you will never post your best times there that's for sure.
