Forgive me for I have sinned.. (1/4mi visit)

Last time I was at the strip it was with my AWD titty on snow tires... Quite satisfying when you nail 1.80 60's without a sweat, which isn't something I can say about the Z06... One thing that I will say before revieling my disgraceful attempt to get a good time is that drag racing with the Z is HARD... okay okay.. Enough excuses.. Here is the best that I was able to do..

First run of the night, with competition mode, no burnout... As the night progressed I got worse (weird how my first run was my best, I think I tried too hard on the other runs).. the last run I got a 2.65 60', needless to say, that is one slip that did not come home with me.. I am determined to do better.. I will be back at e-town on Wednesday night.. I need to redeem myself.. Now, for the tips... For someone starting out with a rwd car, what should I be focusing on to do better? Just try and get the launch down then as I become more consistent play around with the tire pressure and warming up the tires?

60' = 2.248
330' = 5.918
1/8' = 8.883
MPH = 85.66
1000' = 11.362
1/4 = 13.476
MPH = 106.78

Are you sure you were driving a Z06?

Just kidding,... just like "IT L GO" said. Using ET Streets will help with launch and lowering the 60' times. Go for the 17" ET Streets and put them on front Z wheels (on the back, of course).

I recommend checking out Rangers post on Z06 Launch techniques (it's always the first post in the Z06 Racing Section). I've never taken my Z down a drag strip, but his post is a VERY good read (In case you don't know, Ranger is one of the guys that can take pretty much any STOCK Z06 down the drag strip and pull 11's. Here is a direct link. Z06 Launch Techniques
