Gingerman and/or Grattan Test & Tune

Does anyone know the specifics about the Test & Tune days @ Gingerman and/or Grattan in MI?

How much $?
Who can run, intermediate, novice, etc?
Are they organized?
Are they just for racers?

Gingerman is 5:30 to 8:30 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. They split you up into 20 or 30 min, groups. I think it's $50.00
I expect to head over there myself this summer. Where do you live? We can head over together.

I live in Pinckney, MI. In addition to the evening T&T's it looks like they offer full-day events throughout the summer. Those were the ones that I was asking about, as I am about 2.5 hours from the track, and an evening would be too much hassle.

GingerMan: Last season they bumped the price to $60. The track manger usually breaks up the field into novice & experienced. If anyone shows up with an open wheel formula car they end up in a third group. Most evenings I went last year had groups so small that they lumped us together. TM usually asks that experienced drivers do a ride along with novices for a couple of laps. Lots of runoff room. Nothing to hit except the pit lane armco.

It's kind of a laid back gentlemen road racing thing. You can pass on straights, but usually wait for the point from the other driver. Safe, fast & fun. The unwritten rule is that if you are behind me (and not necessarily close) that means you are probably faster and I will point you by when I can. If it turns out that you are not faster and I can keep up, you will extend the same courtesy.

Not sure about Grattan. The western Michigan Alfa club is doing a school/timetrials event Memorial day weekend. I ran there two years ago with Midwestern Council, but they don't have an event scheduled there this year. Excellent track. Elevation changes, on camber, off camber, banked corner, "ski jump"... it's got everything. A difficult track technically. Lots of run-off room here too.

The week days are a pain for me as well (Rochester Hills) It's a just a way for me to get more track time. I've already have half of the summer booked for track time and other events.

So, you drive over there on the weekdays? Or, are you saying that you also wait for the full-day events because you live so far away?
