Got revved on last night....

Last evening went for an evening cruise in my Z to speed up the breakin process. Was minding my own business when this riced out Nissan 240SX coupe pulls up beside me and revs like a madman! Pulled up to the night light and chatted to the kid who was pretty cool. He told me he has smoked many C5s but has yet to race a Z06. I asked him what he was running and he told me he had a Silvia engine under the hood and was pushing 375hp to the flywheel. Sounded like he had a turbo as well. When he heard I was breaking in the engine he backed off the challenge and said i'd probably smoke him anyway after third gear. You think he was right?

My son has the same car. Not to worry, you can take it from the line, but give it all she has.

Likely stay with you until the top of 2nd with equal drivers.
(Traction limitations with the F1's..... )
But into 3rd, the 400 lbs of torque the LS6 puts out would mean buy buy Nissan.... .
Your rate of seperation would increase as your speed increases into the triple digits.

Good to hear some young people out there actually know what they're talking about.

Next time ask him what he runs at the track...

Street racing challenges happen all the time and if you take each half decent car on..you'll end up in jail.

JMO..

Enjoy your car...break it in the right way...and for the most part if you want to race..fwiw...my suggestion is to do it the right way so no body can by an accident get hurt..

With your new Z you will see every tom dick and harry will rev on you at a light..

They don't care if they win or lose ..they just want to race...

Trust me you'll be in jail if you take on every half decent challenge ..

Next time just ask the kid what he runs at the track and leave it at that..

Theres about ten million of those nutty kids out there ..half with more bullshit than brains..(not saying this guy was but you get my drift...)

Once in a blue moon its not bad to run the car on the street in special deserted situations but for the most part should be run competitively with two cars at the track..

Just my opinion to help you stay out of jail.

You're absolutely right JB. I'm not a big fan of street racing, insurance premiums are high enough as it is. In Toronto the cops can impound your car and suspend your license if they catch you street racing - not worth it at all! Guess I'll have to get myself some ear plugs to block out all the rev happy maniac boy racers out there!
