Maybe I'm missing something? You beat him off the line by .036 and his time was .030 faster. What did the ts say you lost by? I would think that you got to the line first.
Anyway. Very nice times.

If you take the reaction time into account your run was better then the Cobra guys. RT(.877)+ET(11.859)=12.736 for you and RT(.913)+ET(11.829)=12.742 for him. Just remember just because his car may be faster you can still beat him by getting a better RT.

Since that night I have been planning and plotting my next run against him on Feb 7th. I think if I can get enough heat in the tires and cut a 1.5 or 1.6, plus speed shift 2nd & 3rd, I will have him by a tenth or two. If not, my tax refund check is going straight to the shop for a sweet H/C package.
BTW, can anyone recommend a nice fat cam that is still O.K. for everyday street use? The Z is my daily driver.
Thanks again people, I will wax his ass next time!!!
I dont think you even need a cam to beat him consistently. The vette is easier to launch and 1.5x's can be routine on et streets. Tire pressure is critical. This would put you in the 11.5x's with the same type of run you showed above. No powershifting necessary. Pm me if you want to know more about a streetable cam.

Both of you were asleep at the line. Don't worry about mods, invest your time at the track learning how to cut a good RT.
For starters - shallow stage, then just focus on the third yellow light. When the third yellow comes on, hit the gas. You should have no problem cutting RT's less than .10 even on a bad day.
