Heat is a good indicator of the status of your suspension and your driving skills. Use it to tell you whether you need camber, whether you're understeering, etc. I can't Imagine a tire "overheating" for any reason other than the car not being set up properly.

If you run any tire too far beyond its abilities to maintain grip it'll overheat. But thats a problem with the driver or the suspension setup, not the tire.
