I appreciate the concern. I really do. I have built in plenty of safeties. I ran a setup like this on a '96 Cobra I had for 2+ years without a hiccup.
There's an arm switch that has to be ON for the button to be live at all. There's an RPM window switch that has to be ON for the button to be live. There's a full throttle switch which has to be ON for the button to be live.
Plenty of safety.
I did it this way so I have full control over when the nitrous actually kicks in. Using only a WOT means you can't go full throttle in 1st gear without the nitrous coming on and subsequently lighting up the tires...unless you want to be fumbling for the arm switch during the heat of battle. Also, what happens if the road is cool and the car isn't going to hook up on the nitrous in 2nd? Well, I don't want it coming on then either.
In fact, there's a good possibility that I won't be able to use the nitrous effectively til 3rd/4th gear. Thus the reason for the button. All of the other 3 things have to be in place, and THEN the button has to be depressed for the nitrous to activate.
