do you guys get lot of wheel hop or spin on your cars and how do you deal with the IRS
I HATE IT FOR LAUNCHING but love it in the turn
though I would dare say your susp is a little more adv then mine
all I get is just lots and lots of wheel hop
I've never experienced any wheel hop on the street or at the track.....in 17,000 miles.....spinning the tires is a big problem for me especially with a carbon fiber clutch. Need slicks at the track.....ET STREETS by Mickey Thompson. Tried BFG Drag Radials, but just spun 'em for 60+ feet even when warmed up and running 16 lbs pressure. BFG's are 315x35x17 on 11" ZR1 wheels
Just make sure you get a receipt for the launch, and write on the back of it the people and the business purpose of the expense. Turn it in to your accountant. To them it is all just numbers anyway, so the slower you are, the more of a refund you'll get.
My car had wheel hop so bad the active handling would come back on at launch as well as the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts - our cars have a driver abuse algorithm that does that as well as it turns off fuel, felt like I was going through the windshield To my knowledge I am one of the few that had wheel hop that bad.
BTW I have done my share of drag racing before the Z06 and ignore the "learn how to race" comments That said you can compensate for wheel hop by slipping the clutch, but IMO that is a band-aid, I wanted to "correct" the problem if I could.
Anyway in my case I replaced the rear bushings with polyurethane - wheel hop is there a little but 90% better. Drag shocks would have helped but I didn't want to do anything that would change how the car handles on a road course.

I am still trying to figure out how to get this sided ot side swaying at the track fixed. I run E.T. streets, and unless the tire pressure is at 22.5 psi, I get a crazy walking in the rear of the car. Feels like I am running on a flat. Does anyone experience this???? I am starting to think I am crazy. And for those people that are convinced of running E.T. Streets with a radial up front, why does a Camaro not have his problem????????????
