how to launch new BFG 295/35R/18

Just purchased (4/17/03) new set of 295/35/18 BFG drag radials from my local Discount Tire store. Will try out tonight at 1/8 mile strip...but i did make several launches (isolated street) on way home from Discount, 30 lbs air at 2600 rpm pop clutch -- BOG, 3600 rpm pop clutch roll a few feet and hit --spin kept and kept spinning, laying two strips of black until i let off. I'll practice multiple lauching techniques tonight but if anyone can save me experimenting runs i would appreciate it....how do you launch drag radials and is some spin desirable??? ---- Discount guys were LOL when they rolled the tires across their floor and the tire picked-up everything in its path...pretty soft and sticky.

First off you have to heat them up a little and I run mine at 18 psi at the track and they really hook

Hey bro. Just got some 295/35/18's myself. Here is what I did to get them to hook up at 1.7x 60'.

I run mine at 14-18 PSI depending on track conditions. So drop that air PSI.

Then, when on the strip, pull up to the water box, put the car into 2nd gear, rev engine slowly to around 5k, drop clutch and immediately apply foot brake lightly. This will put your car in a looooooooooong burnout sitting there. You should see a plume of smoke 40' high.

Pull up to the line. Stage. Rev engine to around 4K, then launch at light. YOU ARE GONE!!!!!!!!!!
