How'd you guys do at the track??

How did the rest of you do? I didn't open my eyes until after 9:30, maybe 10. I took the Chevy Aveo out today for a little ride because the thought of shifting the Z was not a good one. Maybe that'll tell you guys how crappy I feel.

I am really looking forward to making it to the track for the next Challange on November 6th. I am going to Atco on the 13th, and on November 16th, I am going in for a pretty big surgery. I'll be in NY Presbyterian. for 4-5 days and home from work for about a month. I'll let you guys know how I am when I get home. I don't think I'll bring my laptop just because I'll be in way to much discomfort for those few days.

David

Hey David,

Sounds like you made the right choice to stay in bed. Beautiful fall weather for racing today at E'town, and track actaully had some prepping, so guys on slicks were able to hook up.

Robz managed to run an 11.16 (with a clutch that's on it's last legs) at 122+, which I think is his best time this year. Pual broke a half shaft (at least, that's what he thought) on his very first launch today. Z06-Dave came on DR's and made a first pass at 11.8x, as I recall and did what he wanted to on his essentially stock Z. Dr.Ron (who posts at the "other" site and sometimes here) made a pass on his stock Z of 11.62 @119 (his car only has a VaraRam and DR's, and of course ECS tuning...thought I'd forget that, right Chris ). He can really drive! Lorenzo/EnzoM posted on his own thread that he made a 12.07 pass on his "beater" E55 Merc...very impressive for a 2 ton car!

As for me, I picked up my Z today and got to drive it home...no racing yet as it needs to get some break-in miles for the new mods. I plan on posting my initial reactions to the new set-up in another thread.

Perhaps some others will chime in on how they did.

Sounds like a pretty darn good sysnosis to me!
Good memory too!
It was nice to meet you Don, next time I'll be able to spend the whole day, I hope. I would like to meet more of you guys and pick up some more tips.
Don was correct, I ran a personal best and the first 11 of my life, 11.87@119.90. I had a good 60 foot time for me but at 1.85, I think my cars has more in it. Maybe an 11.7???

Don, 2 Z's broke today, or at least appeared to. Do you know what happened to the other one, or was it just a stuck clutch? Also, what are the chances I break a half shaft with my bolt ons. That is my worst fear.

I think I have to hang out more with these guys, they know their suff and can help me drive fast! Can't wait for the next one

Dave

Dave-Z06 - He has Kooks, xpipe, Stingers and a vararam.... not a bad investment for an 11.8 run. Are you going to be going with a SC or keeping your setup? If it were me, i'd keep the current bolt ons and my warranty

Had alot of fun yesterday. Great to finally meet Enzo and Dr. Ron. Missed meeting Dave. Didn't seem like you needed too much help. I heard you broke into the 11's on your first pass. I'll catch you next time. Just post when you want to go.
I Had a chance to go low but something was slightly off. I believe my clutch was slipping. My mph was a bit off as well. I should have been trapping 124's. Best was 11.16 @ 122.4x. We'll be out again next week.
The c6 went 11.73 with headers and 3.90 without tuning or intake. I believe the mph was 118.

ZO6 Dave, if that 60' is on DR's, you're leaving a bunch of ET @ the starting line. Your MPH is nice! If on street tires, then that's a good time.

That time is on balding G-Force DR's. Next event I'll have to make it a point to find more of you guys for some help. I had to leave early on Saturday and only made 2 passes then left.
I'll be there on the 6th, arriving earlier and staying later.
Until then, I'm more than happy with my 11.8, its .3 better than I did in the past
See you on the 6th!!!

Dave
