Ite???

Another thread says it is IT-Everything. However, I can't find any mention in the GCR. Where are the rules specified?

What races do they run in?

Thanks,

David

Who or what is ITe?
Who or what is GCR?

Decipher the acronyms and I'll try to find your answers.

GCR = General Competition Rules - SCCA

Here's the 2003 Cal Club version of ITE - check your home region for your specs.

David,
IT stands for Improved Touring. They are Regional only classes in the SCCA and can't participate in the National Championship Runoffs. But, they do have similar end of year event at Road Atlanta for the Regional only classes.

IT is in the GCS - article 17.1.4
http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/Fil...vedTouring.pdf

ITE is a class for cars that don't have an SCCA class. The rules read something along the lines of any car is eligible that is eligible in another racing series (such as NASA or SCCA World Challenge). So you get a pretty wide spread of cars in the ITE class, and very few entries. In my division the last two years, ITE was won by an ex-SCCA World Challenge C5 Z06 running north of 500 HP, with wings, etc. Very sweet and fast car, but not cheap.

The GCR (SCCA General Competition Rules) don't mention ITE. I thought all IT (Improved Touring) classes were Regional only classes. Is ITE different on a region by region basis?

Yes the IT classes are regional only. Some regions have their own race classifications, so I would presume that the Cal Club link in my previous post would not be the authority for your region. Call the local contact person for your region or find the rules and regs on your regions website. They will have the answers.

Google Danny Kellermeyer or DJ Race. He developed most of the rules and classing in the midwest and east. Currently they run a class called TCC (Touring Challenge for Corvettes) and race from Roebbling Road, Road America, VIR Poconos, etc.

David,
Now that you mention it, ITE may be specific to each Division or Region. I know the Midwest Division ran ITE because they ran in my race often.
