Launch RPM with Nitto DR

Help...

I lowered my PSI down to about 12psI, not very good smokey burnout due to lack of water in the box...

Best 60ft time: 2.10 (consistent)

????

I am launching at 4500rpm and droping the clutch. I guy I race with has a Viper GTS and HE revs to 5000rmp with BFGs and he takes off like a fighter plan from a carrier. My times are consistent 12.8 with this horrible 60ft time. Conditions are crappy here becuase its really dry, starting to get hot, and at elevation. I am power shifting 2-3, and 3-4 gears. Should I "release" the clutch, or drop it like the Viper guy? He says rev it and drop it... He is stock motor with headers and borla exhaust running 1.8 ft times and 11.8 ets.

Suggestions?

thanks

1)You must do a good burnout with nittos for them to work correctly. I would slightly slip the clutch if your launching at 4500.
2) I think you went too low on tire pressure. I would start around 18 and go from there.
Be very systematic, and change (pressure, rpms, clutch slip) a little at a time.
It sounds like your spinning and then bogging.
Again Nittos need alot of heat. The major issue is the 60'. Practice that. If you cut a 1.70 which you can, you should be around 12.00.
Goodluck and be safe.
