Lined up at the line to make first pass and broke something

i start at the line started to ride the clutch out at 4000 rpm and i hear a snap noise..... car is still on just doesnt move.... guess it would be the output shaft i hope.... i knew i had to change the output shaft but i thought i could get away with it for a couple of runs at the track.. guess i thought wrong... i just hope its the output shaft and nothing else....

it's parts like these( output shafts & halfshafts ) that break. and if you buy these after market parts i have not seen one that will warranty it for you (if i am wrong someone please let me know) i understand that we are abusing these parts when we go to the track and dump the clutch at 4500rpm but isn't there anyone manufacturer that can make these parts stronger and warranty it .i'm not sure what gm's warranty would be if you would walk in there and have them do it but i'm sure they warranty parts that you purchase over the counter and have them install it for you (guys like you and me who have no warranty from gm because of our mods ) this really pisses me off this weak link in these cars.

A related question in case this ever happens to me. How did you get you car home from the track? Normally they are pretty far away from things.

you should always carry a # from a reputable towing company and never have them take it directly to the dealer if you have a warranty .because if they find out you were abusing your car at the track they will void it trust me , have them deliver it to your house first wipe off all the rubber and numbers and then call a tow truck to tow it to the dealer
