Lined up at the line to make first pass and broke something
i start at the line started to ride the clutch out at 4000 rpm and i hear a snap noise..... car is still on just doesnt move.... guess it would be the output shaft i hope.... i knew i had to change the output shaft but i thought i could get away with it for a couple of runs at the track.. guess i thought wrong... i just hope its the output shaft and nothing else....

bone stock except for that little F1R procharger bolted in and cartek clutch...
tony if something snapped hope it was just your output shaft and nothing else like my situation were i cracked my rear differential case which in turn cracked my transcase . both rear end and trans is no good for cores $$$$
if i cracked the rear case or the trans case wouldnt there be any fluid leaking.... i didnt have anything leaking the only thing that was wrong was that the car wouldnt go.
my car did not leak any fluid at all tony , it 60 ftd and made a loud snapping sound and coasted after that . (nothing leaked) that's what i thought at first boy was i wrong . i talked to dave at cartek and he said this was the second time he has only heard of this happening hopefully for you this is not the case
it's parts like these( output shafts & halfshafts ) that break. and if you buy these after market parts i have not seen one that will warranty it for you (if i am wrong someone please let me know) i understand that we are abusing these parts when we go to the track and dump the clutch at 4500rpm but isn't there anyone manufacturer that can make these parts stronger and warranty it .i'm not sure what gm's warranty would be if you would walk in there and have them do it but i'm sure they warranty parts that you purchase over the counter and have them install it for you (guys like you and me who have no warranty from gm because of our mods ) this really pisses me off this weak link in these cars.

you should always carry a # from a reputable towing company and never have them take it directly to the dealer if you have a warranty .because if they find out you were abusing your car at the track they will void it trust me , have them deliver it to your house first wipe off all the rubber and numbers and then call a tow truck to tow it to the dealer
well i dont bring my car to the dealer for minor things if something big were to happen lets say blow my motor i would have my sc removed and bbrought to the dealer
thanks i just got a call and my machanic has my car apart and he says its the output shaft... its great to have a friend who owns his own performance shop... its been 6 hours since i since i broke down and my car is apart already... monday ill order the output shaft overnight and maybe my car will be back on the road by tues...possibly ready for wed night racing at e-town
