Just was wondering what else I could do to squeak out a couple hundredths of improvement in my et.
I blend 91 & 100 octane @ the pump to get >94 when I race.
I play with tire pressure 45/25 f/r.
No extras in th car
Car is aligned with very little total toe, and camber is within spec, but closer to the 0 side.
A/C off
T/C in competition mode
Next I'm gonna try the 2nd gear burn out. I've been doing 1st through the water, then burn after I'm out side the box.
Any other tricks that may help out... I've only run twice, both days DA were 1500 - 2100, both @ Infineon in Sonoma CA, so better weather will help. My 60's were 2.02 best, 2.2 worst, so I know I've got some room for improvement there. Running Stock GYSC's for tires.
I've heard that that track is slow @ least on Wednesday because no prep, any opinions??
Thanks in advance,
Bob

Ditch the GYSC's. IMO
A CCW drag setup is the best money you can spend for drag racing enjoyment.
I agree that DR's would help a lot. I'm only a couple hundredths away from what I set as a goal... to have a 11 (11.99) second car on stock tires. I've only made a total of 5 runs during the dial @ 2 of the Wednesday night drags and have come close. If you believe the DA correction program that I found, I ran a 12.03, 12.02 on the first night. Changed my alignment and ran 12.05, 11.98, 12.04 in that order. Actuals were 12.274, 12.246 and 12.397, 12.319, 12.377 in that order. DA's varied from 1631 to 2437, temps were 88 on the faster day and 95 on the second, slower day. Corrected or not I'm close... so maybe if I flap my arms for more thrust
Maybe raise my front up a little for better weight transfer?? I'm diggin' her guys! Any other ideas?
practice and tires that hook well enough. i notice a considerable time improvement by heating up my gysc tires but they dont hook anywhere as good as some race rubber.
shift light - it dropped me from 11.90 to 11.66 without changing my launch rpms.
the raptor shift light takes about 45 mins to install and is well worth it.
I also run DRs. find a set of wagon wheels which are almost free now and then throw so DRs on the back BFG Drs are about $300. well worth it and since one of your tires cost more than that it is a good excuse to buy them and save your street tires.

Go to a GOOD TRACK and do a huge 2nd gear burnout on your F1SCs, letting your foot off the brake (after you’ve got some good smoke coming off the tires) and allowing the tires to spin well past where the waterbox stops. Why? If you get the tires warm enough they’ll pick up rubber from the track and be coated with other people’s ET Streets. Very sticky.
I just went to a track in Quebec (Napierville); this track was prepped so well I could hardly believe it! I was riding the clutch HARD right out of the hole from about 3200 RPMs and couldn’t spin. Best 60’: 1.82. I really feel I could have improved on even that launch as I still had not found the traction limit of my “coated” F1SCs and that beautifully prepped launch area. That 1.82 gave me an 11.86 @ 120 MPH, and my mods consist of LG Headers (with cats) and a Halltech Stinger intake. Stock tune, stock Ti exhaust.
My previous best was a 12.2X @ 117 MPH (before the headers) with a 1.91 60’. Before that, a 12.2X @ 112 MPH with a better 1.87 60’ (low trap caused by mysterious high RPM misfire, now cured).
Tricks: Burnout (as above), rear tires at 25 PSI, DON’T powershift 2nd (you’ll spin), DO powershift 3rd and 4th, lots of practice riding the clutch coming out of the hole. Go to a track that preps well. All the other visits I’ve had to dragstrips have been mediocre at best; this weekend at Napierville opened my eyes and showed me what a well prepped track can do for your ETs.
Now I know what Englishtown must be like, and how some guys get “unreal” 60 ft times from their stock Zeds!

Englishtown is not good for track prep. I live 25 minutes from etown and prefer to drive 1hr. or more to other tracks.

About improving your launch or ripping up the track prep?
Its easy to see walking the staging area after a "street" day. After enough of it is pulled up, it is usually much harder to hook and my 60's are generally much, much worse.
Just was wondering what else I could do to squeak out a couple hundredths of improvement in my et. Bob
BTW - I should mention hire ROBZ. Many of us have lowered our ETs because of his "mentoring". Just ask Don Benson who just hit a new record ET of 11.3ish....
I hear he works for gas for his boat..... :jawdrop:
Well, some may not believe in burnouts, but I do. I went to the track after having read Ranger's post (the one DennyM linked to above) and have done my best to duplicate what he's done.
Well, I've only had the Z to the track 5 times now, and my previous car was FWD. I'm no professional. I did, however, bring home a timeslip with a 1.82 60' time using the stock GoodYear F1 SuperCars this weekend. These tires looked like fly-paper in the staging lanes; they were absolutely COVERED with tiny rocks and stones. These tires don't do that without a burnout...
I do a burnout. A big smoky one. Apparently Ranger does, too.
