Today was the first day of the year that Atco was open and it got off to a very slowwww start. The first car ran after 11 AM, which means we were standing around in the cold for about 90 minutes.
The track was very slippery and no one was hooking up well at all. I'll let the others actually say what the car did, but it did show lots of potential. However, it is going to have to get a lot warmer to fully run this beast.
Here are a couple of pics;
What the engine looks like:
Waiting in line for the first run, Mario is on the far left.
Back in the pits: Doug from ECS is on the passenger side and drive the car today. Carmen (balck hat, white trim) from the Vette Doctors drove down and is on the drivers side far left, Chris from ECS is standing beside him. Mario is the tan hat, and a person whose name I can not remember. Dr. Ron also made it down and did a few passes.
I sure hope somebody got a couple of runs on video.
Oh...and awesome looking motor.

Si vis pacem, para bellum.
so why exactly do i have to wait for someone else to post what it ran?
You don't. Posted at the "other forum" by Doug@ECS:
Well we finally got it to the track.
Or should I say ice skating rink. The track conditions were the worst I have ever raced on. Although I've never raced here in January either. My first run slid threw the 60' with a 1.7, spinning in every gear, finally getting ugly mid way through fourth. I coasted to a 10.9 @ 121 mph.
Second run was simply an abortion.
Third run yeilded a slightly better 60' of 1.6. I spun in every gear and short shifted to correct. In leu of this I ran out of gear at the top and bounced off the rev limitor a handfull of times. We wound up with a 10.6 @ 134. I am not usually a 6 speed racer, so with a decent track and some seat time we are expecting some single digits out of this car.
Special thanks to the VETTE DOCTORS crew who drove all the way to Atco to give support! Even though they were not even running anything today. That is a sign of a truely confident group of racers that know the meaning of sportsmanship.

I love to hear things like this.
Mature people with respect and support for each other.......

Sorry bro, can't advertise for non site vendor in your sig Lingenfelter 427 CID 616 BHP : Caravaggio Full Leather & Alcantra Interior : PHADT Coilover & Sways
I concur. They showed great comeradery (sp?).
Carmen buying lunch sure helped as well! Thanks again Carmen. You're a real gentleman, & it was great meeting the guys today @ Atco.
Ron
Thought it would be better coming from Chris or Doug. Didn't want to steal thunder.
Thanks for looking out but you can post the times it's no secret. We had a good day considering it was so cold and as mentioned above NO ONE had traction. There was talk that a car or cars rolled after we packed up today. 10.60 @ 134.89 was the run even braking loose in 4th gear as well as bouncing off the rev limiter the last 30-40' of track. Doug did a great job and the car ran extremely well showing plenty of potential. Thanks to all (Dr. Ron, Vette Doctors, all the other ECS guys for their support on this wickedly cold day) and of course Doug and Chris @ ECS for all of their hard work in building this fine Z06 We'll be back in the Spring and we're doing some "MORE WORK" over the winter months. (ALL MOTOR OF COURSE) I'm greedy so I already want more power and they'll comply once I settle my bill and get off the dead beat list. We're not going to speculate what could of happened today but we will just make it happen in the season to come. Thanks for all of your support and positive feedback. I look forward to seeing you guys over the racing season and be sure to look for the "updated" 447 coming soon to a dragstrip near you. Mario

Real nice times and trap speed for it being so cold!!
And considering it was closer to ice skating rather than drag racing. None of the cars were sticking at all. Cold air maybe good for the motors, but we discovered that you can get too cold for the track to warm up enough for the tires to stick.
All I could think of was a friend of mine who used to golf all winter - he knew it was too cold when the balls came apart when he hit them...
Doug did very well to handle thet car under those conditions. I remenber how bad the track was 3 weeks ago. I'm surprised that atco doesn't take more pride in their facility to allow the track to get so bad and basically unusable. I still can't get over seeing huge chunks of asphalt at the start line with big patches of concrete underneath. That surface wouldn't even accept track prep! There is no way to control that car under those circumstances and Doug has nads to even complete a run. Congrats guys!

All tracks stop prep when its under 60. It just doesn't stick. You guys are completely NUTS. I couldn't even imagine trying to get my car down the track in this. Congrats to Mario for making a 10 second pass @ 135. With that mph you will definitely see 9.9 or 9.8 with a good track and air.

Are they the katech one's?
I'm not too sure which covers they are to be honest with you. Your best bet would be to ask the guys @ ECS. As far as a 9.9 or a 9.8 I'd like to see it go a little better than that but you never know. We bounced off the rev limiter the last 40' of track so our MPH was off. Besides we're doing a few more upgrades over the winter months so more power = bigger smiles and faster speeds. It will always be ALL MOTOR and as time goes on and new products come about we'll keep adding power and just keep it real. Thanks for all the support.
