I had a great time at MAM this weekend with the Glacier Lakes Quattro Club. They put on a great DE, great people, etc. It was my first time on that track and I recommend it to anyone who wants to have some track time without the fear of hitting something. It is wide open 2.1mi track with no elevation changes and provides lots of runoff room if you get in trouble.
On another note, I ran w/o active handling for the first time on Sunday. What a difference! The car was so much more controllable at apex and drift out and basically allowed slight over steer instead of pure under steer with AH on. I probably would not recommend doing this unless you have a few DE's under your belt but believe me it took the fun to another level. I really felt like I could drive much quicker due to the fact I often took it easy around tight corners because the rear brakes would just go crazy with AH, especially with slight trail braking.

The 6pt harness I bought from DJWorm worked better than I expected considering I am using stock seats. A sternum strap would probably help more. I'll tell you this, I think it's a good intermediate step before I cough up the cash for a sparco or recaro.
Sounds like a great time. MAM is a great track and people are top notch. The track pro races a T1 Z06. I only have one correction for you from personal experience,
"I recommend it to anyone who wants to have some track time without the fear of hitting something."
That is true unless you lose it coming out of turn 6 and take out brake marker #4 (turn 7). Only cost me a left side mirror and rocker panel and some hurt pride.
BTW-if anyone wants to go back, I rent the track every couple of months for some open lapping. PM if interested.
I stand corrected regarding the track being void of all obstacles. It is, however, about as obstacle free as it can be. I'm used to Heartland Park where there is plenty to hit if you mess up bad enough.
Natha's (Track Queen) T-1 vette sure looked like quite a setup. BTW- I notice in your sig that it looks like you picked up quite a bit of torque with LS-1 edit. Did you and Natha have the same shop do it? I ask because she is running T-1 stock but is putting down some sick torque with only LS-1 edit.
Well, Natha's HP/TQ is a secret- I actually talked to her today to firm up some dates for this summer. We did both use the same Omaha shop of a fellow Corvette racer and tuner. He has a Mustang dyno, and can easily be found on the Mustang Dyno website.
Our cars are pretty even at MAM. She has me by .001 last year. We have scheduled a rematch for mid May.
Nice writeup. My car is ready to make the trip to MAM for the SCCA National race there this weekend (Apr 24-25).
I look forward to seeing Natha again. Hopefully it will be in the rearview mirror...
Hope a few of you guys can come out and cheer us on as we duke it out.
Good luck this weekend Subdriver...........Drive it like you stole it.....................

Good luck Subdriver. Natha has more laps on that track than all of us combined, but I saw that Looby has class record there. I wish I could make it. I acutally have some in car footage of me abusing Natha that would show her secret lines, but I think you will be fine.
I have my in car video from my one race there last year and have been watching it every night to drill the track into my head to make up for my lack of seat time...
