MTI ZO7 questions...

Just curious...

1. Does anyone use it as a daily driver? Is it logical?

2. What type of gas milage do you see?

3. How loud is the car?

5. Is it reliable like a stock ZO6?

4. Has anyone gone top speed in one and how fast? I'm guessing over 200 mph.

Thanks, I'm just curious.

If you look on the Car and Driver website

http://www.caranddriver.com/article....age_numb er=1

or in the August 2003 magazine, you will see that a 2002 MTI Z07 won the last One Lap of America. FYI during One Lap the car saw ~4500 miles in one week along with timed laps at several race tracks. Additionally, the car was driven to and from the event which was about 1500 additional miles. The car ran flawlessly. That should give you an indication of the reliability of the package.

The Z07 package can be built with various exhaust combinations for your taste as far as loudness is concerned. They are typically loud, but livable.

There is no reason that a MTI Z07 package could not be used as a daily driver if that's what the owner wanted.

Gas mileage is highly dependant on your driving style and the amount of traffic involved. Being a larger displacement, the package will use more fuel for city type driving where the car spends a lot of time at traffic lights just idleing. The highway mileage should not change very much.

Top speed potential will be limited by gearing if the package is based on a Z06. Fifth gear will run out of rpms and sixth gear has too much overdrive and drops the rpms too low for a top speed attempt.

Hell, John....you act like you know a little something about the Z07 package

Hey John, what about all those problems you had on the One Lap, like having to put gas in it every 400 miles or so?

John's right, no reason it could not be a daily driver. As far as the top speed, I would think it would have enough power to pull 6th into the 190s at least.

A gentleman at work has a Z07 as a daily driver (along with myself and 3 other Z06's)

His car is like a pussy cat - unitl you stomp it

I just figured we may very well have the highest ratio of Z06's in a single work place.

Any other Z06-over-populated work places?

Well, I drove the one lap car around my block and I was SOLD on it and ordered one up for myself

1. Does anyone use it as a daily driver? Is it logical? Yup, drive it every day.

2. What type of gas milage do you see? Approx 10mpg around town with a fairly heavy foot. around 20 on the highway (only have limited highway miles so far) Depends on driving style.

3. How loud is the car? Umm, ask Case2307, but until then, heres a tiny clip. My car runs Cats and a GHL Exhaust.

5. Is it reliable like a stock ZO6? So far so good for me

4. Has anyone gone top speed in one and how fast? I'm guessing over 200 mph. Only went to 162 in 5th and it was still pulling pretty hard.

The only problem I have so far is when I shift into 2nd above 4500 rpm, the tires seem to loose traction, guess I'll have to get that looked at.
