first off i want to thank Cartek for putting on a great event
also want to thank all the sponsors who contributed and tek warrior for all the time and energy it took to get this event together
also want to thank crashed94 and tommy from surf for all there tranny help and carmen from vette drs for the o-ring!!!
i had a blast meeting everyone it was nice putting names with
faces and talking with a great bunch of guys all week-end
i made a few passes sat night to get a feel for things...
then sun morning
i met up with j-rod at the scale before the event even started
we checked each others cars mine was 3260 his was 3175
i guess because he didn't have any exhaust on the car is why is why it was so light
so i went back to my trailer and removed some gas since i had over a 1/2 tank of 94 octane ...
i made my 1st pass 10.71 @ 127 mph 3225 lbs which had to be DQ!!! for being too light
so i went back to add some fuel and went on to race some more
at the drivers meeting Dave made it clear as long as your car met the min weight the run was good
he also informed all to run all day as much as you want
so thats what i did and so did most others
i had 8 runs between 10.73 to 10.77 all day.... pretty consistent
all total i had 28 runs i actually had to send out for some 93 octane because i was running low and right down to the 3250 mark on the scale
my car is tuned for the street the way i wanted it so any more than 94 octane is really no good for my car as tuned
my car as you all know has full exhaust the way i always race it
this is not to take away from j-rods car.. his car is far more radical and thats fine by me
he brought it and yes its a bad ass car no question....
j-rod is an excellent driver as well
i feel bad his car still did not meet the min weight of 3250
on his 1st run of the day
but my car didn't either!!!
my second best run of the day was 10.730@ 127.99
which was the quickest and fastest @ legal weight
which happened to take place around 1 pm after the air went south quite a bit
the weight of my car did move as fuel was consumed and added as the day went on
i did get an chance to go heads up with j-rod
you can watch it here and see for yourself
http://www.cartek.net/videos/brentswininsc.wmv
at the end of the day we challenged j-rod to some more heads up racing
and they declined... i wish they would have but they didn't
i was there to have fun and race my car and show people what this little 346 can do...
i must admit i do have more respect for j-rods car and driving after this past weekend and enjoy the competition
i know most of you from Texas and a few others will continue to bash me and cartek as you always do
even though most of you were NOT even there...
i do have about 13-15 passes in the 10.52-10.59 @ 129-130 mph yes in better air but certainly never better than -1800 DA
i would have posted sooner but didn't get home till 2am Mon morn
j-rod it was nice meeting you in SC and hope to line up again
before the 427 gets put in my car
