Need a little help selecting tires for the strip

Keep in mind I'm on a serious budget here. Here's the question: Should I go ahead and just get the BFG P315/35R17/LL DRs, or wait for some 18s to come out. I hear that Nitto will be releasing an 18 to fit our cars soon. My friend has had the current Nitto 18s, but it was on his Lightning and it will be too tall for my car. What I'm thinking is either purchasing some used 17 or 18 rims from a Z06 to be used for my track days. I just do not want to be stuck with one thing if something better is right around the corner. Am I going about this the wrong way? Should I look into a set of rims other than stock? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Ted

Well, I guess they will be used on the street occassionaly. You know, for those fun get-togethers on the weekends.

So the BFGs will fit our front rims, right? I'd just hate to get tires and rims and find out the fit is gonna be off. I was almost about to order the Nitto 555R 18s, and found out a day before ordering they would not fit too good.

If the car tires will see street duty occasionaly Id go with the Nittos. Even though I have pulled as low as a 1.52 60 ft on Nittos...The BFGs like 6 spds better, and the Nittos like autos.
