Yes, they should work well. I am hoping to improve braking performance (with greater swept surface area that a single pad affords) and that they taper less. I'm taking them to the glen next week so I'll let you know.
I am going to give C-Tech's new single pad design XP8's a shot with my PS2's at Watkin's Glen later this month. Does anyone have feedback on them yet?
XP8 may be a bit on the wimpy side for Watkins Glen, especially if you have previous track experience. I prefer XP12 up front with 10s in the rear.
The rivets are not a problem, especially with the cheap NAPA rotors. To the best of my knowledge, the pads are also bonded, either way I never had a problem, even when the pads got real thin and cracked. No chunks ever came loose.

Yeah, this is my first go at XP8's. I have run 12/10's in the past. The problem is that with street tires I get no pedal feel under braking - all four wheels go directly to ABS in heavy braking zones. In fact, my brakes have been hotter using my current set of Hawk HPS (which are too weak even rolling on street rubber) than my prior set of XP12's by almost 100 degrees. I've also improved my lap times by dialing the braking torque spec backward.
I run mine past the rivets all the time. I cant see that it makes any difference, other than it probably transfers more heat into pistons and brake fluid.
