New World Challenge Z06 in the House

Last night my One Lap partner and I were the high bidder on ebay of David Farmers World Challenge '01 Z06.

From the ebay listing:

Car has had 3 seasons in the SPEED World Challenge GT Series, built and driven by David Farmer. I can no longer afford to race the vehicle, although it is very very fast. Vehicle is NOT STREET LEGAL. Listed below are some of the mods and prices, just to show what you are buying. Vehicle is 95% assembled. Only work to be completed is assembling a few pieces of body work, running a few new AN lines, and installing the new winshield. SEE BELOW For pictures, multimedia links, and links to cars history.

Car would also be very good for TCC (touring challenge for corvettes), NASA, or DE events!

NEW Carbon Hood, front fascia, rear fascia, rear bumpers (wide), decklid $7000

NEW dry-sump pan, pump, 3 gal Peterson oil tank $2500

NEW Racing Shields front winshield with anti-fog $550

Katech 535HP LS6 engine with 5 hrs run time $10000

Newly rebuilt Penske 3-way shocks and New Eibach springs (coilovers) $6000

Secart ¼” carbon Laguna splitter $1000 ACP 6’ rear Carbon wing $1500

Stoptech 4-piston brakes with 14” Rotors $2600, plus spare hats and calipers $1000

13” rear brakes with OEM front calipers

Tilton dual-master cylinders with bias-bar (priceless!)

GM Racing close ratio 6-speed transmission $6000 and spare M12 Z06 trans $3000

Quartermaster 5.5” 3-disc clutch assembly $1300

3 Professionally built differentials, 3.73, 3.90, 4.10 $6000

2.5 sets Kinesis rims, plus 2 OEM rims (rain) $6000

LG Motorsports long tube headers $2000 Aluminum BeCool radiator $500, Mocal oil cooler $250,

3 qt accusump for prelube $200

Momo Carbon Seat New harness & window net

10lb halon system

I have spare control arms, tie rods, wheel bearings, half-shafts, used (buy usable) brake rotors etc, used re-buildable torque tube, some used clutch parts, etc.

16 top-10 finishes

1 Victory & Track record (Mosport 2002)

7th place overall points 2002

6th place overall points 2003

Very awesome.

Questions: Can't afford to race it....understand
Not street legal

So....what are you going to do with it...and with a partner?

Inquiring minds need to know

Can't afford to race in World Challenge is what the seller said in his ebay ad. We probably can't afford to race World Challenge either, but there is plenty of other racing opportunities we can afford.

Is the exhaust routed out the side of the car? Or is that big black mark something else?

One Lap? Needs lights, another seat, etc. Maybe next year. Exhaust route? Haven't even seen the car in person yet.
Parts? How would you like a carbon fiber wide body?

No wide body, but let me know if you need cash for any of the other stuff

If you are in my area to get the car, stop by and say hello! Dave lives 1-2 hours west of here.

I saw and watched the bidding on ebay.

Congrats.

What will you do with the car now?

You might want to tour the car thru some car shows...

Let us ALL know.

Best of luck with it!

Bill.

One of the companies I own might be interested in some kind of sponsorship with you for use of the car w/pics etc and car detail logos etc.

Send me a private PM if interested.

Cheers!

It's nice to see it go to a good and loving home. A car with it's history is a steal at any price.

We plan to rebuild the car from the frame up and get it ready for some serious racing again. Let me know if that would work with your sponsorship plans (PM). Thanks.

Congrats Ron! That's incredible!! Are you guys going to let John's '86 go or is this going to be an addition?

Are you going to run Road America with the Speedseekers group (spring, fall or both)? I don't see your name up on the sign up sheet. I don't know if I'm going to be there for the spring event or not.

I can't wait to see this car in action.

What series are you going to race it in? World Challenge? Or are you just going to run local races with it?

Congrats again! I'm very jealous.

Bob
